The primary purpose of this Line 1 role is to manage the implementation, execution and monitoring of the risk and compliance management framework, partnering with the business to ensure that current and emerging risks are appropriately identified, assessed and monitored.
About the role
- Support the business in managing operational risk and compliance incidents, including driving remediation activities, identifying root causes, and implementing preventative controls to reduce future losses.
- Lead and facilitate risk identification and control assessments across key strategic initiatives and business change projects, including conducting workshops and maintaining accurate risk documentation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on risk and compliance matters, guiding the development of action plans aligned with the Risk Management Framework to address current and emerging risks.
- Implement and maintain the Line 1 control assurance program, monitor key risk indicators (KRIs), and report on internal control performance and compliance outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Promote and strengthen a positive risk culture within the division by enhancing awareness, accountability, and best practices in risk management and compliance.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, with significant experience in audit or risk and compliance within a complex, matrixed general insurance or financial services environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capability, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns and trends, and translate insights into sound judgements and practical solutions.
- Solid technical understanding of control design and operating effectiveness, combined with a proactive, curious, and solutions-focused problem-solving approach.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and influence audiences at all levels.
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
