About the role

  • Manage a portfolio of complex disputes, including escalations from Dispute Resolution Specialists, ensuring the delivery of superior customer service and compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Manage the assessment, investigation, and resolution of internally escalated disputes and external disputes from the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) and other third-party authorities.
  • Facilitate internal and external training sessions to support team development and drive effective outcomes.
  • Act as a point of technical resolution for the team and provide coaching and guidance on dispute files, including conducting Open File Reviews.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to improve dispute resolution processes and team and divisional processes.

 

About you

  • Minimum 4-years’ extensive experience in a Dispute Resolution role within the insurance industry, with current and up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Display a suitable level of professional skepticism, being prepared to challenge accepted practice, or encourage alternative views.
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of disputes relating to significant business areas, including domestic home and motor and commercial.
  • Understanding of the laws, legislations, regulations, and prudential standards impacting the insurance industry.
  • Display objectivity and independence in the work and sound ethical and professional conduct/judgment.
