About the role 

The primary purpose of this role is to provide injury management expertise and support on medical treatment, return-to-work options, and strategic direction on psychological claims in the front-end teams (0-52 weeks). The role fosters consistent delivery of positive customer experience, and health, social, and commercial outcomes.

 

  • Effectively work with claims staff and relevant internal and external stakeholders, including Treating Health Practitioners, WorkSafe, Occupational Rehabilitation and other Third-Party Providers to manage psychological injuries using a biopsychosocial approach.
  • Embed the Injury Management Program’s strategic, innovative interventions and processes by coaching and upskilling claims teams to support a whole-of-person approach.
  • Working closely with the business to support consistent delivery of customer experience and sustainable outcomes
  • Driving the injury management program to deliver improved social, health, and commercial outcomes for all key stakeholders
  • Support achievement of WorkSafe Customer Service Standards and return to work Outcome Measure targets through strategic injury management interventions.
  • Pro-actively seeking opportunities to maximise worker outcomes through analysis of monthly results and application of strategic injury management interventions focused on improving RTW outcomes  

 

About you

  • Provisionally or Fully Registered Psychologist (desirable) OR a degree in Allied Health with 4+ years in Worker’s compensation or Occupational Rehabilitation
  • Experience in injury management relating to occupational rehabilitation, claims management, and/or return to work
  • Understanding of relevant Victorian regulatory and legislative compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to optimise business value to customers through high-quality service and positive experiences.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Technical proficiency with systems, reporting, and communication tools.
  • Ability to make independent and collaborative decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Experience in delivering training and/or presentations (desirable)
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
