Job Purpose:
The Governance Manager, Accounting & Reporting is accountable for ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and compliance across the assigned legal entities. The role acts as the primary accounting and reporting governance partner, safeguarding the integrity, quality, and reliability of financial information while supporting business objectives and regulatory requirements.
This position serves as a trusted financial advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring that reporting outcomes are delivered in accordance with Allianz Partners policies, accounting standards, legal requirements, and internal control frameworks.
In addition to maintaining a strong governance environment, the role drives continuous improvement, data quality, digitalization, and AI-enabled ways of working to strengthen reporting efficiency, enhance decision-making, and support the organization's transformation agenda.
What You Will Do
Financial Governance & Reporting
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for assigned legal entities.
- Maintain the highest standards of financial integrity, compliance, and reporting quality in line with Group policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and challenge financial results to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency of reported information.
- Act as the key governance contact for accounting and reporting matters within the assigned entities.
Financial Control & Risk Management
- Monitor balance sheet accounts and ensure reconciliations are complete, accurate, and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Oversee profit and loss account reviews to ensure financial transactions are recorded correctly and consistently.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate accounting, reporting, and compliance risks through effective controls and governance practices.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal control frameworks and risk remediation activities.
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely delivery of requirements and resolution of findings.
- Ensure adherence to local statutory requirements, accounting policies, and Allianz Partners governance standards.
- Support regulatory reporting activities and maintain readiness for compliance reviews and audits.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with Finance, Controlling, Tax, Compliance, Operations, and external stakeholders.
- Provide meaningful financial insights and explanations to support business understanding and decision-making.
- Collaborate effectively across regional and global teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and deliver business objectives.
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
- Drive process optimization initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting effectiveness.
- Contribute to Finance transformation programs and support the implementation of global governance standards.
- Promote standardization, simplification, and automation of accounting and reporting processes.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
AI & Digital Readiness
- Leverage data, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance financial governance and reporting processes.
- Ensure financial data quality, consistency, and readiness for advanced analytics and AI-driven insights.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive activities and improve controls through digital solutions.
- Support adoption of AI tools in compliance with Allianz Partners governance, risk, security, and ethical standards.
- Foster a data-driven mindset and encourage the use of technology to improve decision-making and business outcomes.
What You Bring
- Strong expertise in Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Controls, and Governance.
- Deep understanding of IFRS, local GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks.
- Experience managing audits, compliance activities, and stakeholder relationships in a complex international environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex financial concepts clearly.
- Experience driving process improvements, automation, and finance transformation initiatives.
- AI-curious mindset with the ability to leverage digital tools, data analytics, and emerging technologies to improve business performance.
- Ability to work collaboratively across global, multicultural, and matrix organizations.
