About the job

Join Allianz as a Solution Designer within our dynamic IT Claims team, which is responsible for the evolution and management of IT systems supporting claims processing. Our team plays a crucial role in continuously enhancing system functionalities to meet new business needs, managing systems in production, and defining and implementing the technological roadmap for platform evolution — including the introduction of Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions to transform both the claims experience for our users and the efficiency of our IT operations.

The IT Claims platform is based on Java and Mainframe technologies, composed of both components deployed in the cloud and on-premises. We are on a trajectory to progressively transition from Mainframe to Java technology, complete the migration to cloud solutions, and embed intelligent, AI-driven capabilities into our platform.

In this context, we are seeking a Solution Designer with proven experience in shaping the adoption of emerging AI technologies, implementing transformation projects and maintaining/evolving software solutions. You will contribute to the definition and execution of steps to evolve the platform towards our target architecture — where GenAI agents play an active role in claims handling and IT automation.

What you do

  • Play a major role in the ideation, design, and architectural definition of Agentic GenAI solutions for the Claims domain — covering both user-facing applications (e.g. intelligent claims intake, automated triage, virtual assistants for claimants and adjusters) and IT-side automation (e.g. agentic workflows for monitoring, incident management, and development productivity).
  • Translate business and IT needs into GenAI solution blueprints, defining agent architectures, orchestration patterns, integration with LLM platforms, and guardrails for responsible and compliant AI use within Allianz’s regulatory framework.
  • Extend existing solutions to enhance scalability, robustness, and security, while ensuring seamless integration between on-premises and cloud components.
  • Analyze and monitor live solutions, assessing performance and platform evolution to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Design and develop architectural solutions using Java technologies to support the evolution towards cloud-based environments.
  • Utilize DevOps practices and tools to streamline development processes, ensuring continuous delivery and integration.

What you bring

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proven problem-solving attitude, essential for managing complex system and transformations.
  • Hands-on experience in design and implementation of Generative AI and Agentic AI architectures — including LLM orchestration, RAG patterns, multi-agent frameworks (e.g. LangChain, AutoGen, or equivalent), and integration with enterprise systems.
  • Ability to assess AI use cases from both a business value and technical feasibility perspective, translating them into concrete solution designs that meet security, compliance, and explainability requirements.
  • Proven experience in coordinating and guiding technical team members, with the ability to drive alignment across different roles and workstreams.
  • Proven track record as a system integrator, demonstrating adaptability and expertise in managing projects.
  • Knowledge of Java-based architectures, microservices, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and the ability to integrate diverse technological components.
  • Degree in IT or Engineering with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in system design, transformation projects and/or GenAI solutions implementation.
  • Proficiency in navigating infrastructural constraints and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical thinking skills, with fluency in both Italian and English, written and spoken.
  • Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles and their practical use.

We welcome applications from candidates belonging to protected categories in accordance with Italian Law 68/99.

What we offer

  • Starting annual compensation from 49,000 €
  • Permanent contract: Liv. 6 CCNL ANIA - Disciplina dei rapporti fra le imprese di assicurazione e il personale dipendente non dirigente
  • We offer a hybrid work model which recognizes the value of striking a balance between in-person collaboration and remote working incl. up to 25 days per year working from abroad.
  • We believe in rewarding performance and our compensation and benefits package includes a company bonus scheme, pension, employee shares program and multiple employee discounts (details vary by location)
  • From career development and digital learning programs to international career mobility, we offer lifelong learning for our employees worldwide and an environment where innovation, delivery and empowerment are fostered
  • Flexible working, health and wellbeing offers (including healthcare and parental leave benefits) support to balance family and career and help our people return from career breaks with experience that nothing else can teach
