SENIOR TRANSFORMATION MANAGER - DOMAIN LEAD
Milan, IT, 20145
We are looking for a Senior Transformation Manager — Domain Lead to serve as GBO's (Global Business Operations) most senior individual contributor within a high-complexity operational domain. This role can be based in Munich, Madrid, Milan or London.
The Impact You Will Have
In this role, you will architect and own the global service delivery model for your domain, set transformation priorities, and shape how work is distributed and governed across onshore, nearshore and offshore locations. You will balance global consistency with justified market differentiation — making evidence-based decisions on what to standardise and what to keep locally tailored to maintain Allianz Commercial's competitive edge.
Operating at a senior strategic level, you will represent your domain at governance forums, engage regularly with Regional Heads, C-1 functional leaders, regulatory bodies and industry networks, and bring an outside-in perspective that continuously sharpens our approach. You will also co-shape GBO-wide standards and TOM 2.0 workstreams, mentor Domain Leads, and actively contribute to building team capability.
This is a role for someone who doesn't simply execute within a defined brief — but sets it. You'll navigate senior stakeholder complexity, drive transformation in domains with strong regulatory or underwriting sensitivities, and help shape our approach in a rapidly evolving AI and process intelligence landscape.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Domain Ownership & Strategic Direction:
- Own the transformation agenda for your domain — setting priorities, making independent strategic calls and representing the domain at senior governance level
- Maintain ground-level expertise through direct engagement with teams across all delivery locations, shadowing workflows and building a continuously updated understanding of how the domain operates
- Co-shape GBO's TOM 2.0 workstreams and Rapid Productivity programme, surfacing automation and AI opportunities within the broader transformation agenda
- Bring external perspective from regulatory bodies, industry forums and market benchmarking to keep the domain's approach sharp and forward-looking
Process Improvement & Technology Embedding:
- Analyse operational workflows at task level to identify waste, rework, bottlenecks and automation/AI candidates — leveraging process mining tools and Voice of the Customer inputs
- Own the domain's continuous improvement pipeline, directing analysts and SMEs and translating evidence into compelling narratives for senior stakeholders
- Drive the embedding of new technology and AI agents into live operations at scale, setting the standard for adoption and sharing that model across the team
Global Service Delivery, Performance & Governance:
- Architect the domain's global delivery model — making evidence-based decisions on the onshore/nearshore/offshore split and balancing standardisation with justified market nuances
- Partner with Regional GBO Heads and offshore/nearshore leadership to ensure global consistency is implemented in a way that fits regional realities
- Own the domain's performance framework — defining KPIs, monitoring trends across all locations, benchmarking against industry peers and driving structured remediation where standards are not met
Community of Practice & Capability Development:
- Build and lead the domain's global community of practice — driving harmonisation across locations and navigating entrenched local practices to build consensus around common approaches
- Mentor Domain Lead colleagues and contribute actively to GBO's broader capability-building agenda
Stakeholder Management & Cross-Domain Contribution:
- Engage regularly with Regional Heads, C-1 leaders, regulatory bodies and industry forums — building credibility and navigating resistance with diplomacy and evidence
- Define business requirements for technology implementations, lead the domain through project delivery phases and hold delivery partners to account
- Contribute beyond your primary domain — sharing frameworks, analytical approaches and methods to raise standards across the wider Ops Transformation team
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
- Operational analysis & diagnostics — Decompose workflows at task level; leverage process mining tools (e.g. Celonis) at scale; translate findings into compelling senior-level business cases
- Global service delivery architecture — Design and own onshore/nearshore/offshore models; make evidence-based calls on standardisation vs. market differentiation
- Senior stakeholder influence & gravitas — Engage and influence C-1 leaders, Regional Heads and regulatory bodies; navigate resistance with diplomacy and evidence; credible and compelling at all levels
- Transformation & performance leadership — Set and own a domain transformation agenda independently; shape TOM-level workstreams; design global KPI frameworks; benchmark against industry peers and regulatory expectations
- Communication & executive presence — Articulate complex operational and delivery model content with clarity and authority for governance forums, senior leadership and external audiences
- Community leadership — Build high-performing practitioner networks; mentor colleagues and elevate team standards through example
Experience
- 7–10 years in operational transformation, including end-to-end delivery in complex domains with measurable outcomes and senior stakeholder accountability
- 7–10 years working with global delivery models (onshore/nearshore/offshore), balancing standardisation with justified market differentiation
- Deep domain expertise in at least one GBO operational domain, with the ability to connect it to business, regulatory and strategic impact
- 5–7 years leading a community of practice or centre of excellence with demonstrable harmonisation outcomes
- 2–3 years in AI adoption, digital enablement or change management
- Experience mentoring transformation professionals and building team capability
Qualifications
- University degree in business administration, economics, operations management or equivalent (Master's preferred)
- Six Sigma, Lean, OPEX or BPM certification is an advantage
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is a differentiator
- Fluent English and Italian
Pursuant to Article 5(1) of Legislative Decree No. 96 of 7 May 2026, as amended and supplemented from time to time, the range applicable to the position offered is between € 75.000 gross and € 85.000 gross.
