About the Job
Join Allianz as a Solution Designer within our dynamic IT Compliance team, which is responsible for the evolution and management of IT systems supporting compliance and AML processing. Our team plays a crucial role in continuously enhancing system functionalities to meet new business needs, managing systems in production, and defining and implementing the technological roadmap for platform evolution.
The IT Compliance platform is based on Java and Mainframe technologies, composed of both components deployed in the cloud and on-premises. We are on a trajectory to progressively transition from Mainframe to Java technology and complete the migration to cloud solutions.
In this context, we are seeking a Solution Designer with proven experience in maintaining/evolving complex software solutions and implementing transformation projects. You will contribute to both the management and continuous improvement of the current platform ("as-is") and the definition and execution of steps to evolve the platform towards our target architecture.

What you do
- Extend existing solutions to enhance scalability, robustness, and security, while ensuring seamless integration between on-premises and cloud components.
- Analyze and monitor live solutions, assessing performance and platform evolution to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Design and develop architectural solutions using Java technologies to support the transition from Mainframe to cloud-based environments.
- Utilize DevOps practices and tools to streamline development processes, ensuring continuous delivery and integration.
- Apply your knowledge of Mainframe systems to actively participate in the identification of transformation steps of our legacy systems in the transition to Java-based solutions.
What you bring
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proven problem-solving attitude, essential for managing complex system and transformations.
- Proven track record as a system integrator, demonstrating adaptability and expertise in managing complex projects.
- Extensive knowledge of Java-based architectures, microservices, and cloud-based solutions. Experience in transitioning from Mainframe environments would be a plus.
- Familiarity with Mainframe solutions, contributing to the definition of smooth technological evolution steps.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and the ability to integrate diverse technological components.
- Degree in IT or Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience in system design and transformation projects.
- Proficiency in navigating infrastructural constraints and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical thinking skills, with fluency in both Italian and English, written and spoken.
