About the Graduate Program

During your first year of employment, you will participate in the Graduate Program which is a 12-month professional development program designed to attract, develop and retain the next generation of insurance professionals. The Program will support your growth as a well-rounded technical expert and potential future leader at Allianz Commercial. Key Program elements include:
- Employment begins mid-July 2026 and the Program starts in early August of 2026.
- Time is split time between structured learning curriculum and on the job experiential learning.

Your Team
The local Accounting team ensures accurate and timely financial reporting for the Japan entity, handling essential activities such as monthly closing, audits, and statutory compliance. While we manage handson, detailed accounting operations that keep the business running, we also play an active role in broader financial initiatives.
As a global organization, we collaborate closely with regional and global finance teams to align reporting standards, enhance systems, and contribute to crossmarket projects. This gives us exposure to international best practices, innovative tools, and diverse professional networks.

The Impact You Will Have
Based in our local office and reporting to the Accounting Manager in Japan, you will collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the business while gaining exposure to global finance practices.
Some of Your Specific Responsibilities could include:
- Support Core Accounting Operations
Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring suspense accounts are cleared accurately and on time—contributing directly to smooth daily financial operations. - Maintain HighQuality Financial Records
Update and reconcile ledgers, journals, and accounting documents, helping maintain the integrity and reliability of financial information for the Japan entity. - Contribute to Monthly & Quarterly Closing
Prepare supporting schedules and assist in meeting internal deadlines, gaining handson experience in essential closing activities. - Prepare Reports and Audit Documentation
Compile data for internal reports and support audit preparation, building foundational skills in compliance and financial governance. - Enable Collaboration Across Teams & Borders
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless communication—while also engaging with overseas finance teams to align on global standards and best practices. - Drive Process Improvements & Transformation
Participate in projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, optimizing reporting workflows, and contributing to broader digital and operational transformation initiatives within a global organization.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Recently completed university degree.
- Degree path focus, mindset and/or aptitude for insurance.
- Prior experience gained through internships, academic projects or related work experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, peers, managers and customers.
- Strong problem resolution and analytical skills as well as the ability to grasp and solve complex issues and present solutions to others effectively.
- Project management skills, including the ability to plan tasks, coordinate with stakeholders, and support project delivery.
- Excellent PC skills including MS/Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency and contribute to data-driven decision making.
- Language Skills: Japanese and English
