This is a senior-level Database Administration role within the NEXtCARE Holding – IT Division, reporting to the Head of Software Solutions. The position is responsible for leading the monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's full database portfolio spanning Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior DBAs and driving database architecture decisions aligned with business objectives.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Database Management — Lead the monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all databases across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL environments
  • Reliability & Availability — Ensure high availability, stability, and data integrity across all environments, including disaster recovery and backup/recovery planning
  • Architecture & Strategy — Drive database architecture decisions and implement strategic technical solutions that support business objectives
  • Performance Optimization — Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization to maintain peak database efficiency
  • Technology Evaluation — Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools to keep the organization current and competitive
  • Team Leadership — Mentor and develop junior DBAs, promote best practices, and provide technical leadership across the team
  • Collaboration — Coordinate with development teams, external vendors, and various internal and external entities
  • AI Readiness- Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data, analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use. 

 

Technical Skills Required

 

  • Expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL & MySQL databases
  • Strong proficiency in SQL & PL/SQL
  • Database architecture, design, and performance tuning
  • High availability, clustering, and disaster recovery
  • Cloud database services (AWS/Azure)
  • Linux shell scripting
  • Capacity planning and backup/recovery strategies

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field; DBA certification strongly preferred
  • Experience: 7+ years in a similar Database Administration role
  • Legally permitted to work in the country of operations

 

Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment with potential for extended working hours and occasional travel
