Key responsibilities

 

The Lifecycle Project Manager is a role within the Workplace Infrastructure and Lifecycle Management team, responsible for strategically overseeing and executing all aspects of lifecycle management, including detox, vulnerability management, and decommissioning of legacy systems within the organization.

 

This role involves strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of projects aimed at retiring outdated technologies, mitigating vulnerabilities, and optimizing IT infrastructure. The Lifecycle Project Manager also identifies potential business cases for system transformation and supports the creation of these cases to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

 

This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive lifecycle management strategies are effectively integrated and executed across the organization.

 

As a Lifecycle Project Manager, you are in charge of the following responsibilities:

 

  • Support strategic transformation initiatives by leading the creation and evaluation of business cases for legacy system decommissioning, emphasizing benefits, costs, and other critical factors.
  • The Lifecycle Project Manager's work includes aligning project scope and targets with the lifecycle aspects of IT assets, considering end-of-life components and vulnerabilities to ensure optimization of the organization's technology infrastructure.
  • This role ensures that the lifecycle management requirements are prioritized and integrated into the annual project plan and works closely with Workplace, Infrastructure and Lifecycle Management (WILM) and Line of Business (LoB) demand managers for full integration within the project portfolio.
  • Ensure the delivery of the agreed project scope, develop and implement comprehensive project plans for legacy system decommissioning. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Assess risks associated with projects, develop mitigation strategies, and report these risks to management and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Engage closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and external vendors. Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to all stakeholders, and facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and align on project goals.
  • Coordinate resources and activities to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. Provide regular updates and reports to management on project status and outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in system decommissioning. 


What you bring 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in IT system decommissioning or migration.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and business case development.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support integration of AI capabilities in cross-LOB IT projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with change management and stakeholder engagement.
