Key responsibilities
The Portfolio Manager (Portfolio Economics) owns the financial governance and budget integrity of the Allianz Partners IT Change Portfolio.
The role ensures robust economic control, validates budget availability, manages budget updates and corrections, reviews business cases, delivers Group reporting (H4/H5), executes SAP uploads, and guarantees that all financial information used across PD/SPR/PIC is accurate, credible, and audit‑ready.
Through this role, you will have the main following responsibilities:
- Establish and adjust investment strategies, objectives, policies and guardrails to be in line with the strategic direction of the IT Portfolio. Investment strategies, objectives, policies and guardrails will be used to evaluate business cases and support financial control of investments within the IT Portfolio.
- Financial Governance & Budget Integrity: Own portfolio‑level financial oversight, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity of all data.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive investment reports (i.e., initiative status reports, investment overview for quarter, benefits realisation reports, risk tracking, etc.) to be shared to LPM stakeholders (LoBs / Business, Demand Management, Allianz Technology, wider Allianz Partners).
- Review new business cases or updated initiative investment request business case submitted across LoBs and continue to look for opportunities to optimise business case review processes.
- Establish effective financial management (incl. financial analysis, financial reporting and budget monitoring) and performance management practices to manage all change activities within IT Portfolio to align to allocated or updated budget.
- Facilitate open communication with strong stakeholder engagement to align on investment decisions and analysis. Establish, build, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including LoBs / Business, Demand Management, Allianz Technology, wider IT LPM team, etc.
- Finance Business Partnering – Primary POC with Finance: The role acts as the main interface between PPM and Finance, responsible for aligning cost structures, consumption patterns, and financial interpretations; aligning capitalization guidelines , challenging capitalization assumptions and collecting capitalization validation from Accounting.
- Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data, analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use.
What you bring
- Experience and knowledge in assessing business case proposals and related benefit tracking models.
- Ability to develop high-level and detailed reports clearly communicating portfolio status and information needed by relevant stakeholders.
- Ability to understand, optimise and monitor the methods used to measure and evaluate the performance of IT PPM.
- Strong knowledge of finance and accounting to manage all financial aspects of each project (incl. ROI, budget management, operational cost impact, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of risk measurement and management tools and analysis.
- Experience in gathering financial insights to support delivery of portfolio in line with goals.
- Ability to display insights clearly and fitting to audience.
- Proven ability to analyze, study or examine financial data in depth to draw conclusions. Manage to avoid failures before they happen, able to resolve them timely.
- Understanding of financials to help manage, plan and monitor budgets, and consider financial impact on portfolio.
- Ability to develop the right performance metrics and methods to capture and measure the right parameters.
- Good understanding of AI frameworks and the ability to utilize AI tools in everyday tasks. Interest in supporting clients in adopting AI for successful business transformation.
