Position Summary
The Wealth Talent Optimiser (WTO) is responsible for leading a team of Wealth Protection Executives (WPEs) to achieve customer acquisition, sales productivity, and business growth objectives.
Unlike a traditional sales management role, the WTO is expected to maintain a strong field presence by conducting joint customer appointments, field coaching, and sales accompaniment activities. While the role does not carry personal sales production responsibility, it plays a critical role in driving sales effectiveness, developing frontline capabilities, and ensuring consistent execution of the Direct Sales operating model.
The successful candidate will combine strong sales leadership with hands-on coaching and a passion for developing high-performing sales professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate and manage a team of WPE to achieve sales, activation and productivity targets.
- Drive a high-performance culture built on accountability, professionalism and customer-centricity.
- Act as a role model for professional sales behaviours and maintain a strong and visible presence in the field alongside WPEs.
- Gather customer and market insights through direct field interactions and provide feedback to management.
Sales Coaching & Capability Development
- Support onboarding of new WPE and conduct joint field appointments
- Ensure WPE develop sustainable prospecting habits and coach team members on referral generation, networking and pipeline development strategies.
- Provide real-time coaching on customer engagement, objection handling and closing techniques to improve overall sales effectiveness.
- Identify capability gaps and implement targeted development plans.
- Support WPEs in managing complex customer cases and high-value opportunities.
- Conduct role plays, sales simulations and skill-building sessions to strengthen sales competencies.
Recruitment & Talent Development
- Support the recruitment and selection of high-quality sales talent.
- Participate in interviews, assessment activities and onboarding programmes.
- Develop future sales leaders through structured coaching and development initiatives.
- Build a strong talent pipeline to support business growth.
Risk, Compliance & Performance Management
- Promote ethical and professional selling practices and customer-first behaviours.
- Ensure team adherence to all regulatory, compliance, mandatory training and any other company requirements.
- Monitor activity levels and team performance against established KPIs including sales quality metrices.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and implement performance improvement plans where necessary.
Requirements
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or possesses Professional Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably within insurance, banking, financial services or other consultative sales environments. Experience in leading a sales team will be a great advantage.
- Strong sales and productivity track record.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong sales coaching and people development capabilities.
- Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to drive accountability and performance in a target-driven environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity and customer focus.
Other Requirements
- Possess a valid Malaysian driving licence, own transportation and willing to travel.
- Must have a PCIL certification
- Familiar with use in AI tools such as ChatGPT for tasks simplification
