What You'll Do

Lead & Inspire a High-Performing Team

  • Build and mentor a diverse team of AI/ML engineers and RPA developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Set strategic direction and technical vision for AI and automation initiatives aligned with business priorities
  • Conduct performance reviews, establish career development paths, and grow technical capabilities across the team
  • Champion engineering excellence through best practices in code quality, testing, documentation, and knowledge sharing

Drive End-to-End AI & Automation Solutions

  • Own the complete lifecycle of AI and RPA solutions—from opportunity discovery and business case development through design, implementation, deployment, and optimization
  • Manage the product roadmap for AI/ML and RPA initiatives, prioritizing high-value use cases and balancing quick wins with strategic transformations
  • Translate complex business challenges into elegant technical solutions with clear ROI and measurable impact
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, data teams, IT infrastructure, and governance functions to ensure successful delivery

Architect & Deliver Advanced AI/ML Solutions

  • Design and implement production-grade ML systems including supervised/unsupervised learning, natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), computer vision, and predictive analytics
  • Build robust MLOps pipelines covering model training, versioning, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, and automated retraining
  • Leverage cutting-edge LLM technologies including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and agentic AI workflows
  • Evaluate and integrate AI services (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, etc.) ensuring compliance with Allianz standards while optimizing for cost, performance, and security
  • Implement responsible AI practices including bias detection, model explainability, and ethical AI governance

Scale Intelligent Process Automation

  • Lead RPA solution architecture and delivery across business processes using platforms like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Microsoft Power Automate
  • Establish automation governance covering bot lifecycle management, change control, exception handling, monitoring, and business continuity
  • Design intelligent automation combining RPA with AI/ML capabilities (document intelligence, cognitive automation, decision intelligence)
  • Ensure compliance and auditability through proper logging, access controls, segregation of duties, and regulatory adherence

Measure Impact & Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track KPIs including model accuracy, inference latency, automation success rates, cost efficiency, time savings, error reduction, and user adoption
  • Lead optimization cycles through A/B testing, post-implementation reviews, and data-driven refinement
  • Report business value to leadership with clear metrics demonstrating ROI and strategic impact
  • Foster innovation culture by staying current with emerging AI/automation trends and piloting new technologies

What You Bring

Required Experience & Qualifications

Leadership & Delivery Excellence:

  • 7+ years in software engineering, ML engineering, or automation development
  • 3+ years in technical team leadership, engineering management, or lead developer roles
  • Proven track record of delivering AI/ML systems to production at scale
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling RPA solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

AI/ML Expertise:

  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost)
  • Deep knowledge of NLP and LLM technologies including OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, prompt engineering, and RAG architectures
  • Proficiency with MLOps tools and practices (MLflow, model registries, experiment tracking, CI/CD for ML)
  • Experience with vector databases (FAISS, Pinecone, Azure AI Search, Weaviate) and embedding models
  • Understanding of model monitoring, drift detection, and continuous learning systems

RPA & Automation Mastery:

  • Expert-level experience with RPA platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Microsoft Power Automate
  • Strong understanding of orchestration and workflow management (UiPath Orchestrator, Azure Logic Apps)
  • Knowledge of automation patterns: attended/unattended bots, exception handling, retry logic, human-in-the-loop workflows
  • Experience with intelligent document processing (IDP) and cognitive automation

Technical Foundation:

  • Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) as primary language
  • Familiarity with C#/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript for integrations and bot development
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and cloud-native architectures
  • Proficiency in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of data engineering: SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data lakes/warehouses
  • Knowledge of API development and integration (REST, GraphQL, webhooks, OAuth)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or highly regulated industries
  • Certifications in AI/ML (AWS ML Specialty, Azure AI Engineer, Google ML Engineer) or RPA (UiPath Advanced Developer, Automation Anywhere Master)
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and AI ethics frameworks
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management practices
  • Familiarity with generative AI safety, red teaming, and prompt injection mitigation
  • Background in change management and digital transformation initiatives
