Position Summary

 

The Budget Support Analyst will assist in the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of the company's budget. This role involves working closely with various departments to gather financial data, support the monthly and quarterly closing processes, assist in annual planning and forecasting, develop, and deliver financial templates and reports, and ensure accurate financial reconciliations.

 

 

Key Result Areas

 

  • Assist in the development and preparation of the annual budget, including gathering necessary data from various departments.
  • Support the monthly and quarterly financial closing processes by preparing reports, analyzing variances, and ensuring accurate financial data.
  • Assist in the annual planning process and forecasting activities, ensuring alignment with company objectives and financial targets.
  • Develop and deliver financial templates and reports to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Perform reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Prepare variance reports to identify discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update budget databases and financial models to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of budgeting software and tools.
  • Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Manage queries from stakeholders.

 

Key Skills

 

  • Proficiency in analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances
  • Ability to prepare and deliver comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Strong skills in performing financial reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables.
  • Familiarity with budgeting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) to streamline financial processes and reporting.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically to identify and address financial issues.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with various departments and present financial information clearly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues across different departments.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing financial conditions and priorities, and to support special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or a related role.
