Chart of Account Analyst
NOIDA, IN
Purpose & Fit:
This role sits at the heart of how Allianz Group structures and governs its financial data. As Chart of Accounts Analyst in the Allianz SE Finance – SimpliFi Run organization, you will own and evolve the Group Chart of Accounts (CoA) so that our global accounting and reporting remain consistent, accurate and ready for a more data‑driven, AI‑enabled future.
It’s a good fit if you:
- Think in structures and relationships, not just single accounts or reports
- Are comfortable challenging and improving change requests that impact the CoA
- Enjoy working with stakeholders across finance, reporting, data governance and IT
- Want to help make finance data “machine‑ready” so it can be safely used in analytics, automation and AI tools.
You will be part of the Group Data Governance team, responsible for common Master & Reference data and CoA management, contributing to high‑quality, cost‑efficient global accounting and reporting.
What are the key responsibilities of the role?
- Build and maintain deep expertise in the Group Chart of Accounts (e.g. investment accounts, cost accounts), understanding how accounts, structures and hierarchies fit together and support reporting
- Assess interdependencies within the Chart of Accounts and between the CoA, internal/external reporting requirements and downstream finance systems, ensuring consistency, accuracy and data integrity
- Evaluate and challenge change requests to the Group CoA, involving relevant stakeholders (finance, reporting, data governance, IT) and managing the end‑to‑end approval and documentation process
- Coordinate and run the Group CoA change request process: prepare approval meetings, record decisions, communicate outcomes, initiate maintenance in relevant systems and keep guidance and documentation up to date
- Contribute to the broader Group Data Governance strategy by helping to shape and improve Master & Reference Data processes, identifying opportunities for standardisation, automation and greater effectiveness across Allianz entities
- Compile and distribute a master data newsletter, develop and share guidance, and maintain clear, proactive communication with all stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools, using insight responsibly and in line with our standards for data governance, security and ethical use.
What are the key requirements?
- Solid academic background in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Master’s degree or equivalent), giving you a strong grounding in financial statements, accounting logic and how a chart of accounts underpins them
- Around 5+ years of experience in financial accounting and/or internal/external reporting, with clear exposure to how the chart of accounts connects to reporting requirements and system structures
- Proven ability to work with financial systems and data models (e.g. ERP, consolidation, reporting tools), comfortable understanding how account structures are implemented and maintained in system landscapes
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills: you can interpret complex change requests, foresee downstream impacts, and propose practical, data‑driven solutions that support both business and reporting needs
- High attention to detail and accuracy, combined with the discipline to document decisions, maintain governance records and ensure changes are correctly reflected in master data and systems
- Clear and confident communication skills in English: able to explain CoA decisions and data governance concepts to stakeholders at different levels and across cultures, both in writing and verbally
- Openness to new ways of working: comfortable using digital collaboration tools, learning to work with analytics/AI‑enabled solutions, and continuously improving processes to make them more robust and efficient.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a multinational organisation, ideally within financial services, with exposure to group reporting and cross‑border stakeholders
- Experience in project or process management, particularly in the context of finance transformation, data governance, or system change initiatives.
