 JOB OVERVIEW:

As a member of the Finance Solutions UAT team, this role participates in Finance-specific as well as Company-driven projects. This role is involved in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of technical system changes and supports the delivery of technical projects impacting the Accounting & Reporting (A&R) and Finance Factory teams. The person in the role participates in: understanding the requirements or changes, conducting user acceptance testing, and implementing new processes for handover to the BAU (Business As Usual) teams.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Technical System Projects:

  • The priority of this role will be Finance User Acceptance Testing.
  • Actively participate where required throughout all project phases: requirements gathering; User Story and Acceptance Criteria review, Test case build, execution of UAT (user acceptance testing), post implementation support
  • Scope of projects will include Finance Operations and Accounting processes within the insurance/assistance system (e.g. OPUS/IRIS/GRP/ABS) and related systems; both large scale technical upgrades and small system changes. 
  • Focus on developing and understanding of the system functionality, how the finance processes are conducted on the system and the report outputs 
  • With support from Finance Solutions team colleagues, complete execution of user acceptance testing including financial calculations, from test case design through to output review and sign off, to ensure all requirements are implemented as specified in the user story and meet the business process needs
  • During UAT ensure various finance scenarios are tested, across multiple arrangements, and including regression testing on the unchanged functionality
  • Support business readiness activities including procedure documentation, user training and post go-live support prior to hand off to BAU (Business As Usual)
  • Provide accurate and timely updates of UAT progress, on test execution and defect tracking.
  • Support monitoring of UAT reporting progress

 

Participate in other finance projects and team activities as required:

  • Support the New Business projects team, where required, with the onboarding of new arrangements (frontings, partnership, TPA etc) or new large clients. Support with the identification of related technical requirements (for system changes) or new manual processes
  • Participate in Simplicity process improvement projects. This includes identification and implementation of small changes, macros, and conducting process review workshops, process mapping and documentation, and process redesign were relevant 
  • Act as back-up for the Projects team mailbox ensuring finance user issues are addressed in a timely manner
  • Support other ad-hoc projects where necessary
  • Actively participate in team communications and engagement initiatives

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills/ experience:

 

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a Finance Operations or Accounting environment
  • Proven project experience within a financial environment: experience in at least one large scale system project or experience with several process improvement initiatives 
  • Performing User Acceptance Testing, IT/QA testing or system testing  experience a distinct advantage
  • Proven experience in detecting, reporting and documenting defects
  • Educated to Degree Level; Business/Finance/Accountancy related
  • Highly numerate and have experience in account postings with strong attention to detail
  • Confident in providing report updates on project tracking
  • Customer and client centric, confident and personable
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the following tools & languages: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Visio, JIRA/ Rally/ Confluence
  • Excellent cross functional collaboration & communication skills
  • Personal Effectiveness – highly motivated, proactive, self-starter, responsible and highly committed, high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solution focused, driving continue progress on initiative and projects
  • Knowledge of Insurance Accounting would be a distinct advantage
  • Test automation skills are a plus
