Finance UAT Manager

Role Overview:

The UAT Test Manager is a pivotal role responsible for leading the User Acceptance Testing phase of projects, ensuring that solutions are validated against business requirements, deliver real-world value, and are fully ready for production deployment. This role bridges business stakeholders, technology teams, and end-users to drive quality outcomes in an increasingly AI-augmented delivery landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning & Coordination

• Design and execute the end-to-end UAT strategy, plan, and schedule aligned with project milestones.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with business users, project managers, development teams, and AI/automation specialists to ensure seamless UAT execution.
• Leverage AI-powered test management tools to optimise planning, resource allocation, and scheduling.

2. Test Case Design & Development

• Partner with business analysts and end-users to define comprehensive test scenarios that reflect real-world usage, business rules, and edge cases.
• Incorporate AI-driven test case generation and prioritisation techniques to enhance coverage and efficiency.
• Ensure test cases account for AI/ML-enabled features, validating model outputs, decision logic, and user interactions with intelligent systems.

3. Test Execution & Monitoring

• Oversee and govern UAT execution, ensuring test cases are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timelines.
• Utilise AI-based analytics and dashboards to monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and predict potential delays.
• Track defects rigorously and drive timely resolution through structured triage and escalation processes.

4. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all UAT-related communications across business and technology stakeholders.
• Deliver clear, data-driven status updates, risk summaries, and outcome reports using automated reporting tools.
• Translate complex testing outcomes into actionable insights for leadership decision-making.

5. Quality Assurance & Validation

• Ensure the delivered product meets agreed-upon quality standards, business requirements, and regulatory expectations.
• Validate all functionalities—including AI-powered features—perform as intended in production-like environments.
• Champion a quality-first mindset, embedding continuous improvement into the UAT lifecycle.

6. Risk Management

• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks within the UAT phase, including risks associated with AI model behaviour, data quality, and automation dependencies.
• Develop contingency plans and escalation paths to safeguard delivery timelines and quality outcomes.

7. Documentation & Sign-Off

• Prepare comprehensive UAT reports, including test results, defect logs, traceability matrices, and formal sign-off documentation.
• Maintain an auditable record of testing activities to support compliance and governance requirements.

8. Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and manage the UAT team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training—including upskilling team members on AI-assisted testing tools and methodologies.
• Drive adoption of modern testing practices, including intelligent automation and AI-augmented quality assurance.
  
  

What You Bring:

• IT Collaboration Experience – Multi-year experience working within or closely alongside IT departments in complex enterprise environments.
• Stakeholder & Vendor Management – Proven track record in managing IT stakeholders, third-party vendors, and Finance UAT processes.
• Agile & Scrum Expertise – Hands-on experience working within Agile Scrum frameworks, with an understanding of iterative delivery and sprint-based testing cycles.
• Transformation & Change Management – Demonstrable experience in large-scale transformation programmes, including formal change management training and execution.
• Communication & Relationship Skills – Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
• AI & Automation Readiness – Familiarity with AI-powered testing tools, intelligent automation platforms, or a strong willingness to adopt and champion emerging technologies in the testing domain.
• Analytical Mindset – Ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and make evidence-based decisions to improve testing outcomes.

Desirable (AI-Forward Skills):

• Experience with AI/ML-enabled products or platforms.
• Exposure to tools such as AI-based test automation, predictive analytics, or intelligent defect triaging.
• Understanding of responsible AI principles and how they apply to testing and validation.
