Senior Operational Tax Specialist
NOIDA, IN
Role Purpose:
The Senior Tax Specialist is responsible for managing direct and indirect tax compliance (VAT/HAST/GST/IPT) and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in line with local regulations and group policies. This role requires solid technical expertise and autonomy in handling complex tax matters, as well as providing advisory support to the business. Additionally, the Senior Tax Specialist supports audits, drives process improvements, and acts as a mentor to junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:

Compliance & Reporting:
Prepare and/or review corporate income tax, VAT/GST/IPT, and withholding tax returns; ensure accurate tax accounting and reconciliations. -
Audit Support:
Lead responses to tax authority queries, statutory audits, and internal audit requests. -
Process Improvement:
Contribute to standardization, automation, and efficiency projects within the tax function. -
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with finance, accounting, operational teams, and external tax consultants to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions. -
Knowledge Sharing:
Provide guidance and informal coaching to junior tax team members. -
Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with internal controls and contribute to identifying and mitigating tax risks
Profile Key Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate or post-graduate in Finance, Business, Commerce, or related field; professional tax qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, ADIT) is a plus.
- Proven experience of 4-7 years in Tax Compliance/Accounting/Financial Reporting area.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and reporting standards.
System Skills:
- Knowledge of ERP systems and SAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Functional Knowledge:
- Strong expertise in corporate income tax and indirect tax; good understanding of withholding tax and tax accounting (deferred taxes, provisions).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to independently manage end-to-end compliance processes and resolve complex issues.
Team Work:
- Accountability and ability to undertake initiative.
- Ability to explain technical matters in a clear, business-oriented way; comfortable interacting with auditors, consultants, and local authorities.
Other Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
- Ability to work and communicate with different cultures, levels, and organizations worldwide.
