Transactional Accountant Manager

Role Purpose

As a part of the Transaction Accounting team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of accounting operations related to financial bookings, reconciliations, accruals, reserves, and reporting activities.

The role is responsible for executing and monitoring accounting processes in compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and operational procedures while leveraging technology and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial governance.

You will collaborate with global stakeholders, support process improvement initiatives, and contribute to Allianz's digital transformation journey through the adoption of AI-enabled tools, automation solutions, and data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Accounting & Financial Operations

• Perform monthly accounting activities including accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and financial bookings.
• Review and analyze financial results to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Manage accounting for reserves, commissions, client cost allocations, and foreign exchange-related transactions.
• Review open item management and perform timely clearing and resolution activities.
• Support accounting activities related to reinsurance, technical reserves, IFRS reporting, and financial controls.
• Ensure adherence to Standard Work Procedures (SWPs), internal controls, and audit requirements.

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate unusual trends or discrepancies.
• Generate actionable insights through financial data analysis to support business decision-making.
• Maintain high-quality documentation for accounting processes and controls.

Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend automation, simplification, and standardization opportunities.
• Support transformation initiatives focused on operational excellence and digital finance.
• Participate in process redesign projects aimed at improving quality, scalability, and productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and enhance service delivery.

AI & Digital Readiness

• Leverage AI-powered productivity tools, analytics solutions, and automation technologies to improve operational efficiency.
• Use data visualization, analytics, and digital tools to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Demonstrate curiosity toward emerging technologies such as Generative AI, Intelligent Automation, and Process Mining.
• Contribute to building a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and digital adoption within the finance function.
• Ensure responsible and compliant use of AI tools in accordance with Allianz policies and data governance standards.

What You Bring

Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of Financial Accounting, Transaction Accounting, and Accounting Operations.
• Good knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and month-end close activities.
• Familiarity with General Ledger accounting, financial controls, and reporting processes.
• Understanding of insurance accounting concepts, including reserving and reinsurance, will be an advantage.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP and reporting platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as MBA (Finance), CA Inter, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent will be advantageous.

Experience

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in Transaction Accounting, Financial Accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R), Insurance Accounting, or Shared Services Finance Operations.
• Experience within Insurance, Financial Services, or Global Business Services environments is preferred.
