Audit Manager

JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

The mission of the Internal Audit department is to provide AllianzAM entities with independent, risk oriented and objective review and consulting services to help improve business operations. The US Internal Audit team is based in New York City and is part of the Global Internal Audit team with additional presence in Munich, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong. As a member of the US Internal Audit team you will perform audits in various locations throughout the United States and also provide support to the Internal Audit teams in Europe and Asia. The position will focus on conducting operational and financial risk-based audits as well as developing data analytical, statistical and data management routines to support the review of business processes

What you will do

• Establish and lead strategic partnerships with business area management, leveraging AI-driven insights to enhance audit support and internal controls expertise;

• Lead complex operational, financial, and integrated audits, incorporating AI and data analytics for enhanced risk identification and process improvement;

• Design, manage, and oversee audit programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business risk priorities;

• Develop full audit work programs, integrating automation tools, Python-based data analytics, and AI-driven methodologies where applicable;

• Present predictive risk insights and formulate advanced data-driven audit findings with strategic recommendations for mitigating risks;

• Lead the annual audit risk assessment process, integrating machine learning models and predictive analytics for dynamic risk evaluation;

• Oversee automated follow-up audits using data analytics tools to ensure timely corrective actions and compliance improvements;

• Expand and optimize AI-driven CAATs and Python automation techniques to enhance audit coverage and accuracy;

• Lead the development of advanced data analytic procedures, utilizing Python, AI-based anomaly detection, and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau;

• Drive AI adoption in audit methodologies by implementing organization-wide data analytics training and best practice sharing initiatives;

• Innovate visualization-driven audit strategies, leveraging automation and machine learning to identify key trends and risk patterns;

• Spearhead continuous innovation in internal audit practices by integrating AI and automation to streamline risk and control assessments.

What you bring

• Master’s degree in Business Analytics and Project Management, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or related field and 2 years’ experience in internal/external IT audit, or as IT consultant or equivalent;
• Experience to include 2 years working in internal audit, risk management, or related fields;
• Prior experience in AI-driven audit techniques or data analytics required;
• Proficiency in audit software and data analytics tools such as ACL, IDEA, Power BI, SQL, and Python;
• Experience in leveraging AI for fraud detection, risk assessment, and process automation;
• Experience working with regulatory compliance standards such as SOX, IFRS, and GAAP;
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and projects with varying deadlines

The base salary range for this position is 110,000 -140,000 USD.

Allianz Asset Management rewards its employees based on a total compensation approach which includes base salary and discretionary variable compensation. Base Salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by factors such as core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary variable compensation considers individual, business division as well as company performance on a long- term sustainable basis.
