Job Purpose

We are looking for an P&C Underwriter – Financial Lines & Liability to join our company. The job holder will be responsible for managing and executing underwriting activities for Financial Lines and Liabilities, in an efficient and effective manner; They will apply Allianz Group Underwriting rules within underwriting limits including: risk submission; completeness of data; analysis and assessment of the risk; coverage structure and design in collaboration with respective departments; rating and pricing using Allianz Group pricing tools; negotiation and binding.
The role supports the development of key customer relationships, contributes towards delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through the monitoring of account performance, control of underwriting standards, business development activity, and ensures that business written is done so in a technically excellent manner, adhering to underwriting authority and standards. Furthermore, the job holder will be responsible for contributing to the review and to the setup of the reinsurance program for the lines responsible.

 

What you will do

  • Be responsible for underwriting performance for D&O Liability (including Crime, EPL and PTL) Professional Indemnity, Cyber Liability, Employers' Liability, Public/Products Liability accounts
  • Assume responsibility for individual line of business, which includes delivering KPIs with Underwriting rigor and control whilst supporting control functions (i.e. Compliance and Governance, etc) across the underwriting discipline
  • Monitor the performance of accounts and lines of business within the business unit, identifying under and over performance, implementing remedial and opportunity actions as appropriate
  • Deliver KPI targets across complex cases/portfolios worked upon to deliver the high-level line of business strategies, and understand Account Management principles and the impact of individual cases on the account
  • Adhere to Underwriting Authority and understand the impact case decisions have on Profit and Loss and the achievement of plan, being also able to articulate the impact clearly and concisely
  • Build business relationships both internally and externally to drive technical excellence, generate business opportunities and represent the Underwriting area at appropriate internal and external global forums
  • Provide support to stakeholders on broker business development activities
  • Undertake and report on Underwriting Inspections (where required), account control and quality review programs
  • Liaise with all other appropriate internal parties including Sales and Distribution, Pricing, Claims and Operations
  • Prepare and issue insurance contracts, endorsements and renewals of contracts
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of policies underwritten and decisions made
  • Provide customer service to commercial customers

 

What you bring

  • Degree in Insurance, Law, Statistics or other relevant field
  • Master’s degree and/or any insurance relevant professional qualifications are considered an asset
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent command of Greek and English language (spoken & written)
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation skills and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills
