Purpose of the Role
As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the regular reporting of financial results under IFRS 9 & 17 and PAS 39 submitted to the Regional and Group offices as well as Regulator, while helping to further the ongoing preparations towards full adoption of PFRS 9 & 17 locally.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Regular reporting of financial results to the Regional and Group offices under IFRS 9 & 17, including the preparation of ancillary reports, analyses, and commentaries
- Review of the Investment Accounting Reports submitted to the Regulator
- Data preparation, testing, and implementation of relevant systems in accordance with Group standards and guidelines
- Coordination between local teams (Finance, Actuarial), Regional Office, and external consultants on matters related to IFRS Reporting. Can also act as the primary Accounting representative in IC/PLIA discussions.
- Preparation and review of key Accounting inputs for use in IFRS runs, such as GOC allocations and system extracts
- Ensuring complete and adequate process documentation
- Assist in any ad hoc tasks assigned in relation IFRS 9 & 17
Requirements for the Role
- Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or finance
- CPA Board passer not required but a great advantage
- At least 5 years of work experience from insurance, external audit or other financial institutions
- Knowledge and exposure in IFRS 17/IFRS 9, PAS 39 and insurance company’s financial statements
- Good understanding of life insurance accounting process
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent skills in oral and written English communication
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Experience with AI-driven adaptive learning technologies and data analysis for personalized training.
- Proficiency in using AI tools for content recommendation, automated assessment, and feedback.
