SENIOR CLAIMS SERVICE CONSULTANT (COMMERCIAL PROPERTY) – 12 MONTH SECONDMENT - CUSTOMER & OPERATIONS – AU WIDE
- Potential for full-time opportunity
- Must be willing to work on a rotating roster (8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Sydney time), Monday to Friday
- Must be able to work fully onsite during the first week of employment for the training period

About the role
- Follow the AAL Claims Management Process.
- Ensure and maintain knowledge of current legislation and how this impact claims management, applying soundly based decision-making to all claims and consistently making liability decisions of increasing complexity at claims lodgment and throughout the life of the claim.
- Support capability development by coaching less experienced members of the team.
- Manage a portfolio of claims from validation to finalization within PCA authority levels and ensure that client is kept informed as per communication requirements.
- Review claims and authorize payments for other team members within allocated authority, ensuring adherence to AAL standards to minimize leakage and increased cost of claim.
About you
- Tertiary and/or Industry-specific qualifications
- Meet specific technical capability and competence standards that are required for professional progression within AAL, including the submission of a portfolio of supporting evidence (For AAL employees only).
- Proven experience managing complex claims within a matrixed general insurance environment, with strong technical capability in commercial property claims; additional background in farm, retail or domestic claims is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and building capability of a claims team.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with demonstrated experience of coaching and building capability.
- Ability to plan and prioritize effectively, organize tasks, manage competing resources, and demands.
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision-making.
- Pays high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and can quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information.
- Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, databases, reporting, and communication tools.
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
