Job Title: (Senior) Full Stack Developer – Java.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced senior developer to enhance our CARA applications used of Sanctions screening. We are looking for highly skilled and results-oriented Java Full Stack Developer with 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying robust web applications. Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture, with a strong command of front-end technologies like Angular/React and databases like MySQL/Postgres. Proven ability to lead full-cycle development, optimize performance, and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Ownership: Take full ownership of the CARA application, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and needs specific to operating entities.

Ensuring that the development team has a clear and prioritized list of work items that align with business objectives and deliver value to customers with quality epics and user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria’s.

Strategic Initiatives: Work under the guidance of Group Compliance  to support the development and addition of new AML standards / rules.

System Integration: Implementing requirements that connect various core systems eg. OPUS, BMP, and other third-party systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.

Project Management: Communicate project objectives, plan timelines, and allocate resources effectively to meet the unique demands of the insurance market.

Operational Excellence: Contribute to operational processes against agreed standards and timelines, supporting continuous improvement through innovation and excellence in claims management. Use AI tools to optimize the development process.

Backlog Management: Manage the backlog by planning work based on the available capacity and priorities of the business.

End-to-End Process Understanding: Understand requirements in the context of end-to-end processes, ensuring they are tailored to the specific dynamics the insurance market.

Collaborative Action: Support management colleagues when interdependencies demand collaborative action and teamwork, fostering a culture of cooperation and shared success.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

Key technical skills expected are as below.

Core Java & Backend: Strong proficiency in Java 8+ is essential. This includes object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and exception handling.

Java Frameworks: Extensive hands-on experience with the Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot and Spring MVC, for building robust server-side applications.

APIs & Microservices: Proven ability in designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and building applications based on microservices architecture.

Frontend Technologies: Proficiency in core frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)) and experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.js or Angular (including state management libraries like Redux).

Databases: Experience with both relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). This includes strong SQL skills, database design, optimization, and management.

DevOps & Cloud: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is also highly sought after. Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a significant advantage.

Version Control: Expertise in using version control systems, primarily Git and platforms like GitHub or GitLab, for collaborative development.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans.

Communication Skills: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Innovation and Improvement: A proactive approach to continuous improvement, with a focus on innovation and excellence in claims management.
