Job Title: Technical Product Owner – Healthcare/Insurance AI Platform

Location: Allianz Technology, India

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to lead a healthcare AI platform that captures patient-reported symptoms, structures and summarizes them using AI, and integrates into downstream clinical and insurance workflows.

This role requires strong technical understanding and system-level thinking. You are expected to understand the architecture well enough to shape product behavior, define interface contracts, reason about performance and reliability, and make informed trade-offs between scope, safety, auditability, and delivery timelines.

You will own the product end-to-end: translating product intent into implementable backlog, making prioritization and scope decisions, shaping system behavior, and owning outcomes in a regulated medical context.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, clinicians, and business stakeholders, but are expected to lead product direction, not facilitate it.

Any prior exposure to AI systems, healthcare integration, FHIR, or regulated platform environments is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership: Take full ownership of the healthcare AI platform product, including roadmap, backlog, and delivery outcomes. Translate high-level intent into concrete epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Make trade-offs between scope, performance, safety, auditability, and delivery timelines in a regulated medical context.

Backlog Quality & Readiness: Ensure the development team has a clear, prioritized, and implementable backlog. Define and enforce backlog readiness standards (definition of ready, testability, and auditability).

Intent System Backlog Translation: Translate product intent (e.g., reducing doctor intake time without reducing safety or trust) into concrete system behavior and backlog items. Define vertical product slices spanning UI, AI services, APIs, and downstream clinical and insurance integrations.

Technical & Architectural Alignment: Collaborate closely with the engineering team to shape product behavior at system level. Understand core architectural components, data flows, and interface contracts well enough to reason about performance, reliability, and integration impacts. Own the product consequences of architectural decisions.

AI Product Responsibility: Own the product behavior of AI components in medical workflows. Define human-in-the-loop processes, accountability boundaries, acceptable risk thresholds, and quality degradation detection metrics. Ensure auditability and explainability of AI-generated outputs.

FHIR & Healthcare Integration: Guide implementation of requirements using FHIR as the interface language. Validate data contracts, resource usage, and workflow integration across clinical systems, symptom capture, and insurance/claims workflows. Ensure healthcare domain correctness, not just technical correctness.

Team Leadership: Create focus when priorities are unclear or changing. Push back on technically attractive but product-wrong solutions. Build trust and respect with senior engineers through clarity, decisiveness, and product judgment.

Operational Excellence: Contribute to operational readiness for production, incident response, and continuous improvement as well as operational processes to establish the product within the organization.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

Technical Product Ownership: Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager for a platform or technical product. Demonstrated ownership of system-shaping decisions, not just backlog coordination or delivery tracking.

Architecture & System Understanding: Strong technical understanding of APIs and platform architectures. Ability to reason about data flows, interface contracts, performance, and reliability well enough to shape product behavior and make informed trade-offs.

Regulated Environment Experience: Experience working in regulated domains such as healthcare, insurance, or finance. Strong understanding of compliance, auditability, and safety constraints in production systems.

AI & Healthcare Understanding: Practical experience with AI-enabled products. Ability to reason about AI failure modes, human-in-the-loop workflows, quality degradation, monitoring, and auditability. Experience with healthcare integration or clinical workflows is a strong advantage.

FHIR & System Integration: Working knowledge of FHIR resources and healthcare data contracts. Experience integrating across APIs and downstream enterprise systems.

Product Judgment & Decision-Making: Comfort making trade-offs under uncertainty and owning the consequences. Treats performance, safety, and correctness as product responsibilities, not engineering afterthoughts.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, disagree constructively with architects and senior engineers, and create clarity under ambiguity.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex product intent into implementable, testable system behavior.

Communication Skills: Clear, direct communication style. Ability to articulate technical and product concepts to diverse stakeholders.
