About the Role:

The OPUS application is the primary policy management and administration application for multiple lines of business serving 5 distinct regional operating entities in the APAC region.
The Product Owner is responsible for the delivery of their agile team (comprising business analysts, developers and testers).  This is achieved by managing and prioritising the product backlog and defining the vision of the product according to the partners.  You will need to understand customers, market, competition, and identify trends and opportunities in each of these areas with the objective of maximizing the value of the product delivery in an agile framework.

What You Do:

• Prioritise backlog epics/user stories to be completed by delivery team according to guidance from product management and business leaders.
• Conduct backlog grooming to ensure the team has a sufficient number of well-understood user stories ready for development and to ensure completeness of requirements prior to development according to the team definition of ready.
• Collaborate with other Product Owners and mange dependencies for portfolio level delivery.
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings, iteration reviews/planning, and backlog refinement sessions.

• Work closely with the Product Manager to develop and maintain the product backlog, ensuring regular PM/PO synchronization.

• Support the full policy lifecycle processing within the OPUS application, from quotations and policy issuance to claims, settlements and financial reporting.
• Engage in UPI planning.
• Ensure the implementation of DORA for Regional OPUS application.
• Gather audit evidence for internal and external auditors.
• Manage vendor relationships, including TCS Status Report meetings and External Resource Onboarding/Offboarding.
• Attend HK Midcorp Portal (AQUA) Monthly Meetings.
• Regularly provides updates and creates transparency towards the customer on what the Scrum Team will work on next.
• Ensures that product increments are delivered in high quality and iteratively considering customer and stakeholder feedback, thus ensuring continuous product improvement.
• Identify and provide solutions for product-related impediments.
• Operate within an agile framework using agile principles and practices, while also applying specific practices from waterfall project management if necessary.

 

What You Bring:
• Agile mindset.

• Experience of the insurance market in areas such as Aviation, Property, Entertainment, Marine, Engineering, Financial lines or Liability.
• Critical thinking generated by observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, and communication.
• Degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Relevant work experience in leadership, management, or other relevant areas.
• Experience in an Global company operating in an Agile delivery model desirable.
• Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
