You will be responsible for the performance for selected Lobs or Regions. You will perform standard planning and reporting tasks as well as other value-adding analyses to provide transparency on drivers behind current and future financial performance and support the decision-making process and portfolio steering.

 

The position provides comprehensive insights into the LoB’s financials & strategy and supports the respective business leaders. You will play a key role in building bridges between our Finance and Underwriting departments as well as sharing best practice within Global Performance Steering (GPS) and the wider finance community.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include

  • Provide financial analyses and assessments on the financial performance of the LoBs in selected Regions, identify key drivers, risks and opportunities and provide recommendations
  • Present conclusions in a transparent way with robust financial commentary to enable decision-making
  • Perform regular reporting, forecasting and planning processes for selected Lobs and reinsurance

Address customer requests and perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned

 

Qualification  & Experience:

 

 

  • Experience within the financial services industry, ideally P&C insurance or reinsurance as well as min 3-5 years’ experience in performance management (e.g. controlling area)
  • Solid understanding of insurance; sector-specific financial statements and performance measurement
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to handle and analyze large amounts of data
  • Ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively to a variety of stakeholders including senior management
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to analyze data effectively and convey compelling and engaging messages
  • Advance knowledge of reporting tools (e.g. SAP BW and SAP Analytics Cloud)

Comfortable working in a global team and maintaining effective remote relationships

Demonstrated evidence of presentation, reporting and communication tools.

Excellent communication skills

Solid understanding of accounting standards (IFRS 17) and P&L mechanics

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Reinsurance Report (Monthly Basis)
    • Run BW reports and pre-analyse reinsurance data.
    • Prepare XoL report based on BW extracts and share/store in a shared RI folder.
    • Timeframe: Every day during closing time from X+3 to the final “go” from accounting.
    • Yearly Maintenance of Alternative Trading Partner Hierarchy:
      • Pull BW report and isolate “na” trading partners.
      • Communicate the list to the BPs.
      • Collect feedback and reach out to FinSol for maintenance with guidance.
  2. Reinsurance Planning
    • Preparation and technical checks of IQS EQS input file.
    • Regular run of various RI check reports (daily during peak planning phase).
  3. Ad Hoc Requests
    • Answer ad hoc data pull requests (BW reports to be run with a specific set of parameter selection provided).
  4. ART Planning
    • Support BP team during planning (data entries, validations, reporting of plan data).
  5. ART Reporting
    • Update SAP BW and GRID reports.
    • Update ART Master file on X+2, X+4, X+6.
    • Distribute ART reports to GPS and Actuaries.

Prepare pick-up file for monthly reporting

  1. Legal Entity Reporting

Run reports by legal entity (actuals and plan) and distribute among respective BP teams
