Release Engineer / Manager
The Release Manager is responsible for planning, C00rdinoting, and managing software releases across multiple environments. This role ensures smooth delivery by working Closely with development, testing, and Devops teams. The Release Manager acts as the Central 0rChestrotor of release activities, ensuring quality, timeliness, and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
Release Planning & Coordination
- Define release scope, timelines, and deliverables in C0llaborotion with product owners and engineering teams.
- Maintain release calendars and COmmuniCate schedules to all stakeholders.
- Coordinate with DevOps teams for environment readiness, pipelines, and deployments.
- Work with development and test teams to ensure build stability, test coverage, and release readiness.
GovernOnce& CompGonce
- Ensure adherence to organizational change management and governanCe policies.
- Provide evidence for ARS, compliance reports, and audit requirements.
- Track and report on user acCess, seCurity policies, and release approvals.
Risk & Issue management
- Identify potential risks in release cycles and proactively mitigate them.
- Manage rollboCk strategies and contingenCy plans.
- ESCOlote and resolve release-related issues across teams.
Communication & Stakeholder Iflonogement
- Act as the single point Of Contact for release status, risks, and outcomes.
- Provide clear updates to business, teChniCOl, Ond leadership stakeholders.
- Facilitate release readiness meetings and post-release reviews.
Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with Devops to improve CI/CD efficienCy and reduce deployment failures.
- Work with QA teams to strengthen test automation and regressi0n Coverage.
- Capture lessons learned and refine release processes for future cyCles.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer SCienCe, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experienCe in release management or projeCt co0Fdinotion.
- Strong understanding of software development lifeCyCle (SDLC) and testing processes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD Concepts and Devops proCtices (COOFdinotion, not hands-on).
- Excellent organizational, communiCOti0n, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple releases across diverse teams and teChnologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in compliance and audit reporting.
- Familiarity with ITIL Change management processes.
- Exposure to Cloud environments and enterprise-sCale applications.
