The Benelux Life Corporate Actuarial department of Allianz is looking for an experienced actuary focusing on reserving transformation.

Join our Reserving team to take our deep-dive analysis to the next level. You will use statistical techniques to refine our best estimate assumptions, build actuarial models and provide insights that feed directly into our capital models and pricing strategy.
Who are we looking for?
Life Corporate Actuarial department is never at a standstill, we continue to implement new technologies, reshape processes, adhere, and adapt to the latest new regulatory (Solvency) and accounting (IFRS) requirements and enhance our management reporting with automated dashboarding and artificial intelligence. All this in a fully Agile way! In this active and challenging environment, we are seeking a forward-thinking Actuary or Actuarial Data Scientist to join our Corporate Actuarial team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between traditional actuarial reserving and modern data engineering. You will be responsible for streamlining our quarterly reserving process by replacing manual workflows with robust, automated data pipelines, and producing business insights in an efficient manner.
Your Profile
Must haves:
- Have a pro-active and pragmatic attitude with a track record of executing projects
- Have the appetite to work in a regional setting with different cultures / approaches
- Have a masters’ degree in actuarial science, mathematics, other quantitative fields, or data science
- Have 3+ years of experience in actuarial reporting and/or data analytics. Experience in data engineering and model developments would also be considered.
- Can manage different stakeholders (from Board of Management to your direct colleagues).
- Communicate fluently in English
- Have experience in various software languages (preferred Python / R / C++ / WTW RA FM etc.) to efficiently handle and analyze large and diverse loads of data or to model the actuarial cash flows of our life insurance products
Relevant experience seen as a big plus:
- Have strong knowledge of IFRS17 and Solvency II
- Able to make presentations on the spot / adapt your communication style to your audience
- Experience in managing and automating insurance data flows and processes, as well as data visualization and dashboarding
- Communicate fluently in English, as well as either Dutch or French
- Actuarial Certification (AAG / IABE, or from other recognized actuarial associations)
Your responsibilities:
Depending on your strengths and skills, we might ask you to
- Set-up and maintain data feed processes / calculations / regulatory and management reporting (incl. meaningful analysis)
- Improve / harmonize the existing processes surrounding data analysis, assumption settings, actuarial models, and control framework
- Enhance business partnering solutions (dashboarding), allowing us to communicate clear messages towards our stakeholders in steering our life business
- Provide input / actively participate in various committees (e.g., reserving committee / smart circle meetings / product committee / etc.): linking portfolio analysis to real world observations / product features. Challenging the status quo is our creed!
- Contributing towards new projects, such as M&A, improvement existing or setting up new processes, implementation of new technology, etc.
