We are looking for a Head of Market Management for the Large Client segment, based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. 

  

Your Team  

Our Benelux Allianz Commercial team is a client centric and well-experienced team. We have a significant local presence that continues to grow, located in Brussels, Antwerp and Rotterdam, supporting Benelux clients with comprehensive and multinational risk transfer and insurance solutions. 

 

The Impact You Will Have  

You will report to the Regional Head of Distribution Benelux, as part of a strong Benelux market management team. Together with underwriting, you will drive our commercial relations with local clients and brokers in The Netherlands, delivering sustainable and profitable growth by applying our solution- and service oriented approach. In addition, you will work in close collaboration with the other corporate client teams in the Benelux, under the one team one model approach. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities include: 

  • Represent and act as ambassador and go-to person for ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL on the Dutch market for large corp and upper mid corporate clients and prospects 

  • Foster robust and long-term relationships with ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL key brokers and clients and generate trust and credibility with key stakeholders at appropriate levels 

  • Act as orchestrator internally in ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL between lines of business and support functions to secure a holistic client approach and install a sales excellence culture 

  • Work in close collaboration with the other sales and underwriting teams in the ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL operating model (one team, one model), who are serving the corporate client segment with a focus on small-medium sized enterprises, and mid-corporates 

  • Drive profitable growth of the Dutch portfolio by winning new business and successfully retaining and developing existing business, together with the underwriting teams 

  • Facilitate brokers’ understanding of the ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL value proposition, our underwriting appetite and core capabilities,  positioning ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL as preferred insurer in the corporate client segment 

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify and build a suitable customer pipeline and develop effective opportunity roadmaps to win new clients 

  • Take ownership of sales kpis, driving a data driven sales culture making optimum use of available software tools 

  • Proactively lead and coordinate bids for client acquisition and renewals 

  • Ensure deliverables are achieved, guaranteeing a smooth transition to the operational key account team 

  • Proactively develop in-depth client and industry expertise, using this to challenge the client and uncover unstated needs  

  • Proactively engage with the underwriting team to develop upsell and cross-sell opportunities and increase “share of wallet” with key brokers and clients and ensure structured pipeline and prospect management.     

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

  • Proven track record in market management activities within the Dutch large corp and upper mid corporate insurance market 

  • Capable of driving strategic market management, defining client segmentation and communicating a clear value proposition 

  • Expert knowledge of the Dutch market, direct clients and broker landscape  

  • Proven success in building long-term relationships  

  • Able to proactively foster and build business opportunities, creating networks across multiple stakeholders  

  • Demonstrable success in driving profitable business, maintaining and developing existing business  / new business  

  • Able to work and navigate in an international matrix organization, working alongside local, regional and global teams 

  • Strong communication skills, in both Dutch and English. French is an advantage. 

  • IT savvy with an eye to driving process improvement and bringing on board new digital ways of working 

  • Experience of SalesForce.com is positive 

  • Excited by a context of change, able to adapt and thrive in a context of transformation 

  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
