Role Summary:

As a Surety Underwriter at Allianz Trade, you will contribute to the achievement of profitable and sustainable growth in Euler Hermes UK IE Surety strategy, develop and implement commercial and underwriting plans for both existing and new business. Ensure adherence to Group underwriting standards for Surety and contribute to Surety development plans through strategic underwriting and commercial excellence

Main Tasks:

Underwrite existing and predominantly new business targeting profitable results while adhering to local, regional, and group underwriting standards.
Develop and maintain client and intermediary relationships to ensure a high level of service.
Manage relationships with clients in your portfolio, including meeting and visiting them as required, and covering for team members during absences.
Target new business, maximise retention, and utilise client facilities within a commercial strategy for each case.
Negotiate terms, including premium and recourse.
Assist with the development, coaching, and mentoring of other team members.
Maintain contact records in the CRM database to ensure the commercial strategy is achieved.
Provide commercial and underwriting reporting updates and develop strategic plans.
Ensure accurate completion and recording of documentation and forms.
Follow and understand market movements, the construction cycle, and main players.
Continuously develop understanding of bond wordings, guarantee solutions, and facility and indemnity scenarios/documentation.
Provide key support to the Head of Surety and Risk function in driving underwriting strategy.
Develop experience in complex case management, including involvement in distressed cases, threatened claims, and actual claims.

What We Are Looking For:

Strong underwriting skills in the Surety business line and technical knowledge.
Extensive knowledge of the UK Surety or similar market.
Ability to build an extensive network with introducers and close contacts in the market.
Experience in steering multi-distribution channels to develop new areas.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organisation
Ability to influence customers in negotiations
