Key responsibilities

 

The SAP Product Owner has a key role in the financial transformation process of Allianz Partners. It has end to end responsibility towards the Finance Global Function. The SAP Product Owner acts as a main interface globally between the Finance function and Allianz Technology in charge to provide IT services.

 

The PO needs to ensure the consistency of the SAP Finance activities through the system but also maintaining the quality of the delivery during the phase of development and post delivery in Production.

 

This role will also be responsible to support all BUs on the target platform in defect management, client escalation resolution and other run activities as defined by the Finance delivery manager.   

 

As a SAP Product Owner, you are in charge of the following responsibilities:

 

  • Own the SAP platform roadmap and backlog: partner with the Finance Delivery Manager to define annual improvements, balance BU priorities, and drive timely defect resolution.
  • Lead cross-BU process optimization across systems and lines of business to advance the target platform strategy and improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure release quality: set acceptance criteria, oversee pre-release testing, validate end-to-end processes, and prioritize epics/requirements for QBRs and annual plans.
  • Partner with the B2B2C team on defect triage and post-implementation stabilization; investigate client escalations, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure timely remediation.
  • Provide transparent feature visibility: curate and publish release feature lists and clearly communicate value and changes to stakeholders and SAP Key Users.
  • Enable user adoption: support SAP Key Users with training planning and delivery, including materials and sessions.
  • Drive governance and planning: prepare updates and materials for platform checkpoints, SteerCo, and QBRs; maintain prioritization plans and status reporting.
  • Tackle ad hoc priorities from the Finance Delivery Manager, ensuring swift assessment, coordination, and resolution.

 

What you bring  

 

  • SAP business analysis expertise: 8–10 years in SAP-focused business analysis, complemented by 5–10 years in enterprise business needs gathering and requirements analysis.
  • Agile delivery leadership: Minimum 2 years working within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), with hands-on Product Owner capabilities (backlog management, user stories, prioritization, sprint planning).
  • Customer-centric process design: Proven ability to design and optimize processes from both customer and functional perspectives, translating customer journeys into scalable, measurable solutions.
  • Project and stakeholder management: Track record managing cross-functional initiatives, independently driving follow-ups and decisions with stakeholders, and confidently engaging senior executives.
  • Change management and enablement: Experience planning and executing change programs, including building training materials, delivering trainings, and supporting adoption across diverse user groups.
  • Analytical problem solving: Strong analytical mindset, able to frame complex business problems, synthesize insights, and define clear, actionable solutions.
  • Communication and presentation excellence: Strong English proficiency (written and spoken); exceptional interpersonal skills; able to produce executive-ready presentations with a professional look and feel
  • AI-driven optimization: Practical experience applying AI/GenAI in SAP to streamline finance workflows, detect anomalies, and improve release quality, using responsible AI practices.
  • Credentials: Agile or project management certifications (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, PMP) are a plus.
