What you will do:

 

To provide overall medical support to the Operations team in Brazil in the management of medical assistance cases and claims.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Review of medical reports and case details to the assistance and claims teams for the purposes of determining eligibility of minor claims. Provide expertise on the appropriateness of medical care for the purposes of quality control and cost containment.
  • Work closely with MGCC Canada Medical Director to ensure that all clients receive evidence based care at all times in keeping with Allianz Worldwide Partners Medical Guidelines 
  • Liaise and provide any needed support to the medical team at MGCC Canada who provide medical case management of complex care claims for hospitalized clients from Brazil when abroad. Assist with arrangements for medical repatriation/transportation of cases from abroad to hospitals in Brazil.
  • Provide support to other MGCCs and BUs of Allianz Partners for any of their clients who are hospitalized in Brazil and require local guidance on health care system navigation.
  • Provide medical input in the event of complaints and lawsuits, in order to ensure that all cases are optimally managed 
  • Assist with escalated client enquiries to ensure client satisfaction 
  • Assist with arrangements for domestic medical evacuation/repatriation/transportation of clients when necessar
  • Assess the quality of medical facilities in Brazil and other locations in South America when required 
  • Represent Allianz Partners Brazil in meetings with business partners and prospects, conferences, interviews and media publications related to the medical services provided in Brazil 
  • Develop and refine local operations with respect to the medical management of cases, considering the organizational structures and systems utilized 
  • Be a resource to other members of the medical team within Brazil, including other physicians and nurses

What you will bring

 

  • Medical Doctor with clinical experience
  • Preferred background in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Family Medicine with some significant Emergency/Hospital experience, General Surgery or Internal Medicine
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English. Spanish preferred


Working Conditions: Part time position (36h per week / 12x36)
