Senior Risk Underwriter

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Credit Underwriter to join our Credit team. The ideal candidate will bring 10 years of proven expertise in credit risk assessment, underwriting, and client management. This role requires a proactive, business-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to balance risk with commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities :

Credit Risk Assessment

• Conduct in-depth financial and business analysis of companies across diverse industries.
• Investigate and collect all the information of companies for his/her own analysis proactively including buyer call/meeting
• Evaluate creditworthiness and make appropriate credit limits in line with our internal Risk Business Model and Risk appetite.
• Monitor portfolio exposure and proactively identify potential risks.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Client Management

• Be responsible to manage a dedicated client portfolio, steer it and provide a pro-active service level to our clients
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and stakeholders by attending/initiating regularly meetings and telephone conferences in addition to the daily communication.
• Provide clear, high quality credit advices and solutions to cater our client needs while safeguarding company interests.
• Act as a trusted advisor, balancing risk management with commercial partnership.

Business Support & Collaboration

• Align with Commercial team in steering clients loss ratio and ensure profitability of our portfolio
• Partner with Commercial teams to drive business development opportunities.
• Support strategic initiatives by providing underwriting insights and market intelligence.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 7–8 years of experience in credit underwriting, trade credit insurance, or related financial services.
• Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit risk management, and industry risks.
• Proven track record of client management and business support.
• Ability to execute company visits and contacts, including high level meetings with senior professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with self-initiative and sound judgment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Admin, or related field
• Languages: Cantonese (Native) / Proficient in both English and Mandarin a must.
• Experience in working for MNCs / a multicultural environment a definite advantage.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
