1. Role Overview
The Solution Designer (Inventory) is responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing IT solutions related to the Inventory domain. The role ensures alignment between business requirements and technical design. It also guarantees solution consistency, scalability, and compliance with Allianz Group standards.
The Solution Designer collaborates closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and French counterparts to deliver high-quality solutions that support both RUN and BUILD activities.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Functional & Technical Design
- Analyse business requirements for the Inventory domain and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- Produce design documentation (functional design, technical design, process flows, interface mapping).
- Ensure solution consistency across the system landscape.
- Review technical developments and validate alignment with design principles.
B. Application Support (RUN)
- Provide L2/L3 expertise on Inventory-related applications.
- Conduct root cause analysis and propose long-term corrective measures.
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Maintain updated knowledge base articles and functional documentation.
C. Project Delivery (BUILD)
- Participate in project phases including scoping, design, testing, and deployment.
- Prepare and execute integration and user acceptance testing scenarios.
- Work with developers to ensure successful implementation of enhancements and new features.
- Contribute to release planning and deployment coordination.
D. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with French and cross-border teams to ensure alignment on priorities and timelines.
- Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to the Squad Lead / Tribe Lead on progress, risks, and dependencies.
E. Continuous Improvement
- Propose process optimisation opportunities within the Inventory domain.
- Drive standardisation and promote best practices.
- Participate in knowledge transfer sessions across squads.
3. Required Skills & Competencies
Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of Inventory, Assets, or Accounting flows in an insurance environment (or related domains).
- Experience working with financial systems, asset management systems, or SAP modules (e.g., FI-AA) is an advantage.
Technical Competencies
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications and interface structures.
- Experience with SQL, APIs, XML/JSON formats (nice to have).
- Understanding of integration patterns and data flows.

- Excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver under deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, especially with international teams.

4. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years in Application Design, Business Analysis, or Solution Design roles.
- Experience in insurance or finance environments is a plus.
- Proficiency in English and French (working level required).
5. Key Deliverables
- Functional and technical design documents.
- Test scenarios and UAT support documentation.
- Updated knowledge base for the Inventory domain.
- Monthly reporting on RUN/Build activities.
- Successful delivery of enhancements/releases.
