What You Do
Within the Global Operations (COO) function, the Performance team is responsible for overseeing and optimising the operations reporting through strategic planning, development of datasets and reporting. Additionally the Performance Analyst is responsible for the provision of analysis and insights to support effective decision-making within the local performance team while also supporting the global team. The unit contributes to the organisation’s overall success by identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, continuous improvement and providing valuable insights to support the achievement of strategic goals. The scope of global COO spans across +50 business units and all Lines of Business (LoB) with approximately 17,000 Employees.
As an Ops Performance Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting and optimising the reporting processes for all LoBs within the Business Unit Japan. Additionally, the role is responsible for collaborating and overseeing the management and development of performance reports. The Analytics Business Partner will liaise with business stakeholders to understand the business strategy, identify, and validate requirements for changes to reporting. The Analytics Business Partner will ensure reporting requests are prioritised in line with business needs and strategy, and that best practice reporting methodologies are followed. By supporting identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, you will contribute to the organisation's success and support the achievement of global strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain departmental reports to accurately track department performance and quality
- Design and modify Power BI dashboards to ensure they are up-to-date and provide valuable insights.
- Streamline and/or Automate report generation using Power BI, VBA and macros to streamline processes and reduce preparation time.
- Produce and distribute management reports accurately and promptly, providing clear, concise, and actionable presentations to management.
- Develop and sustain operational scorecards for KPI tracking and reporting, supporting volume forecasting and capacity planning.
- Contribute to the automation of data collection, consolidation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with other Operations and non-Operations departments to gather data and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
- Maintain a strategic mindset focused on driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Offer support and maintenance for current management information systems (MIS) to ensure their reliability and effectiveness.
- Create documentation for MIS processes to facilitate seamless operations and straightforward system maintenance.
- Stay informed about standards, ensuring the organisation’s practices comply with them.
- Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use.
What You Bring
The role requires strong analytical and communication skills. You need to be a team player with a Analytics/Reporting background, high motivation, and energy, eager to learn more about insurance and service business, its core operations, and underlying drivers for cost & productivity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable insights and recommendations.
- Proven experience in an Analytics/Reporting function
- Power BI product experience is a must and Querying SQL data is a bonus
- Work closely with other analysts, developers and other stakeholders to deliver on required reporting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire trust and effectively collaborate across diverse teams and cultures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Fluent in English & Japanese, both written and verbal.
- Preferable: experience within a large matrix organisation (ideally in Insurance or Assistance business), demonstrating ability to navigate the structure.
