Batching Officer

The Batching Officer performs basic clerical tasks, such as arranging standard process claims, invoices and other indexed documents according to an established system of the processing department. He / She operates office equipment and completes general office work; sorts and distributes documents according to insurance policy.

Key responsibilities/What you do:

• Responsible for reception of healthcare providers and payers invoices
• Responsible for sorting invoices depending on due date, FOB, Payer, Provider…
• Ensure that Jumbo Claims are urgently handed over to Medical Auditors.
• Ensure that NSSF claims are urgently handed over to NSSF unit.
• Consistently check and track claims received from providers which includes the following responsibilities:
  • Checking claim submission for proper completion
  • Ensure that standard format for submission is followed such as General statement of account and detailed statement of account.
  • Set department reception on the bordereau as per agreed  procedure
  • Register batches on system as per packing tag.
• Ensure immediate efficient distribution of invoices to medical auditors and processing officers.
• Ensure feedback within set specified time for any corrections, missing information’s and any standard format not being followed
• Inform the Processing Department Team Leader/Manager wherever there is missing information on the claim and standard format of submission are not followed repetitively.
• Return incomplete claims to provider as and when needed
• Follow and apply the internal procedures of the Department
• Responsible and accountable for the confidential, proper administration of insured member data as well as system, policy and medical information
• Any other duties as requested by the Direct Manager

Key requirements/What you bring:

• Baccalaureate Degree or equivalent
• Ability to respect deadlines
• Demonstrable commitment to producing output base results
• Excellent team player

  Excellent communication and organizing  skills
• Basic knowledge of MS Office application
• Willing to work overtime when requested
