Description:
As a IT Business Analyst, you excel in defining new features and enhancing the central platform with a strong focus on business performance and joint business goals. You rely on data to validate decisions and are an expert in business process optimization. Your significant experience in front-end delivery for insurance companies and e-commerce platforms allows you to play a crucial role in conceptualizing and implementing customer journeys across sales, operations, and claims.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Regulation
- Market research & study the latest technology and business trends in insurance space
- Awareness and understanding of the various regulatory requirements of insurance and MAS guidelines
Process & Transformation
- Work closely with Business SMEs to understand and capture Business requirement and identify the scope for digital transformation
- Influencing operating model by leveraging group’s innovative and cutting-edge digital tools
- Continuous improvement of internal processes baselining group KPIs
Technology & Delivery
- Work on release planning to prioritise the features to meet the quarterly and yearly targets
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct
- Collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk
- Maximize the business value of the products and be accountable for successful delivery.
- Responsible for tracking benefits realization and adoption on an ongoing basis
- Creating and maintaining a prioritized Product Backlog
- Clearly communicating priorities, sprint goals and acceptance criteria to the agile team
- Work on user story conception to facilitate clear communication of requirements to the agile team by communicating priorities, sprint goals and acceptance criteria to the agile team
- Provide input during the Agile ceremonies - sprint planning, review, retrospective demos, refinement sessions
- Inspect the product progress at the end of every Sprint and accept or reject work done
- Contribute to continuous improvement with business feedback/vision
- Remain aware of the daily BAU activities to maintain a grasp on business/process evolution
- Work with the production support team on incidents when and where required
- Supporting the PM’s by working on UAT plans, including supporting the business in helping to define UAT test cases.
- Participate in defect triage and prioritization, and addressin any requirements defects, changes or questions that come out of QA testing
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer or equivalent required
- 5 years of Insurance industry work experience in projects/programs with significant change impact and multiple dependencies within and across organizational boundaries. Experience with E-commerce platforms is a definite plus
- Proven track record in delivering projects successfully from inception to delivery through Agile methodology as a Product Owner with Good planning and forward-thinking skills
- Knowledge of project management principles and the ability to apply the principles, tools and techniques to develop/plan, manage or execute projects or work plans to ensure successful completion
- Strong stakeholder management ability in handling wide-ranging requests from senior stakeholders
- Capable and reliable in meeting tight schedules and deadlines as well as high attention to detail while maintaining clear customer expectations throughout the life cycle of a project/engagement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational and documentation skills are essential
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence
- Any AI-future skills e.g., ChatGPT, or CoPilot 365, will be an advantage
- Open to occasional global travel as required
