The primary purpose of the role is to deliver a solution design for a project or initiative that is cost-effective and fit for purpose, provide architectural guidance and support to teams involved in the delivery, and ensure the integrity of architecture in line with the application domain and Allianz standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the business domain and significant experience in the insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture methodologies and frameworks.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms, specifically AWS and GCP.
  • Strong understanding of Java/application development and architecture.
  • Experience with integration technologies such as Kafka and Apigee.
  • Solid understanding of security fundamentals and their application in solution design.
  • Ability to recognise, avert, manage, and escalate conflicts to enable effective and timely resolution in accordance with organisational processes.
  • Ability to manage complex negotiations to ensure mutual agreement between parties is achieved.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence.
  • Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, databases, reporting, and communication tools.
  • Ability to focus on end-outcomes and work accordingly to achieve the desired results.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Role Specific

  • Take overall responsibility for architecture and design within the application domain to ensure that the solution meets enterprise architecture and Allianz requirements.
  • Work proactively with business stakeholders during the initial business case and concept phase to support scoping and prioritisation in line with business needs.
  • Identify and analyse emerging trends in both business and technology to provide input and consultation to the business on a regular basis.
  • Provide expert technical input and advice into the development of business strategies, technical strategies, and system architectures, and contribute to the business planning of the division.
  • Benchmark Allianz technologies against its competitors and identify technical improvements that will benefit the business.
  • Lead organisational strategic initiatives (e.g., cloud adoption, migration to strategic platforms, decommissioning, etc.) and supporting artefacts which could bring significant business benefits.
  • Oversee the governance around enterprise and infrastructure services leveraged across applications, ensuring adherence to SDLC and SOX.
  • Leverage expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, as well as strong Java/application knowledge, to design scalable and secure solutions.
  • Provide guidance on integration technologies, including Kafka and Apigee, ensuring seamless data and system communication.
  • Apply security fundamentals to ensure that all solutions adhere to Allianz's security standards and best practices.

Business Stakeholders: Work closely with relevant business stakeholders to scope out the project/initiative and define detailed architectural requirements.

Consultants and Service Providers: Engage with external consultants to drive the implementation of strategic initiatives.
