A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a talented Business Development Manager to join our Southampton team. You’ll take the lead on some of our most high‑value, strategically important accounts.

 

 

Role Description

 

This is a role for someone who loves being out in the field meeting brokers, strengthening relationships, and driving growth across a diverse portfolio. You’ll work with a blend of mid‑corporate and SME brokers, bringing a proactive, people‑focused approach to every interaction.

 

  • Beyond managing accounts, you’ll play a key part in the wider branch, contributing to projects and initiatives that will help shape the future direction of the team
  • Take ownership of key broker accounts across the South Market, building strong, influential relationships that drive success for Allianz UK.
  • Shapes and delivers strategic broker development plans, tracking performance closely and taking decisive action to achieve outstanding results

 

Salary Information

 

Pay: Circa £51,000 per year.

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

 

About You

 

  • Serves as the primary relationship lead internally and externally ensuring Allianz maximises every partnership while consistently meeting our client commitments.
  • Champions fresh, forward thinking business development initiatives that support growth across the South region.
  • Maintains full adherence to all regulatory standards, ensuring every action reflects our commitment to quality and compliance.

 

 

Essential Skills

 

  • Excellent relationship management, networking, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Self-starter, assertive, resilient and ability to motivate others to win with you
  • Close familiarity with the commercial insurance market and its components
  • A strong understanding of the customer and broker propositions offered by the Allianz Group
  • Strong financial acumen and presentations skills
  • Strong sales capability with a proven ability to prospect and generate new business opportunities and effectively take the full breadth of Allianz products and solutions to the market
  • UK Driver License
