About the Job
This position involves co-managing the Windows Server environment based on virtual machines, focusing on ensuring operation, maintenance and security, while adhering to the ITIL framework for change management. Key responsibilities include implementing security measures (vulnerability management), conducting regular assessments, responding to incidents and maintaining detailed documentation of system configurations and changes. Candidates should have proven experience with Windows Server systems, virtualization technologies, software distribution systems, group policies windows update service and security protocols, alongside strong analytical and communication skills.
What you do
- Co-managing the Windows Server environment, ensuring operation, maintenance, development and monitoring. Improve performance and stability of the service.
- Plan and document changes ITIL Framework, ensuring all necessary details are captured.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Windows systems from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct, test and validate migrations to ensure successful completion and functionality over different datacenter locations (Germany and Switzerland).
- Plan and execute DR tests based on customer requirements and improve the DR capability aligned with the new license bundle.
- Respond to availability, performance, security incidents and breaches, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of Windows Server configurations, changes and procedures.
- Technical alignment with depending on services like network, storage, virtualization colleagues to ensure compatibility and smooth operation.
- Generate reports on system performance, capacity planning and resource utilization.
What you bring
- Extensive experience as a Windows Engineer (Windows Server 2016, 2022) or similar role.
- Proficency in Windows Server operating systems, with expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, CA Unicenter Software Delivery, Citrix Environments, IIS Webserver, Public Key Infrastructure, and PowerShell scripting. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
- Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and security technologies (incl. DMZ and segregation)
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issue
- Lifecycle Management: Skilled in managing IT asset lifecycle and EOL/EOS components.
- Change and Patch Management: Deep knowledge of Allianz Change- and Patch-Management Processes.
- Collaboration: Effective collaboration with international teams and stakeholders.
- Communication Skills (English): Clear and concise technical communication in English.
- Cultural Awareness: Ability to work in a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed for operational activities.
- Relevant certifications (preferred), such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, and Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
