Job purpose/role

 

Allianz Investment Management SE (AIM) in Stuttgart is responsible for the investment strategy and its implementation for the German Life and Health insurance entities of Allianz. In particular, we manage the portfolio of Allianz Lebensversicherungs-AG, the market leader in life insurance in Germany.

You will be part of the Investment Strategy Team. In this role, you will actively contribute to the development and implementation of our investment strategy to achieve superior portfolio returns for our policyholders, while navigating sustainability, Solvency II, and local GAAP steering needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an investment team managing a global and highly diversified portfolio of more than EUR 300bn in assets under management, offering plenty of opportunities to learn and develop.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to steering our investment portfolios and developing AIM's investment strategy based on fundamental market analysis.
  • Work on new investment strategies, asset class segments, and investment vehicles. Collaborate and align with asset managers for the actual implementation in our portfolios.
  • Participate in the development of our state-of-the-art analytics platform for data-driven investment steering.
  • Engage in the global Allianz Investment community, exchange knowledge, and work on joint projects across international hubs and teams.

 


Key requirements/skills/experience

 

  • Master's degree in economics, business, (financial) mathematics, financial engineering, or another quantitative area.
  • Strong academic profile; PhD or CFA would be a plus. Ideally, first work experience, preferably in insurance, banking or asset management industry.
  • Understanding of capital markets and their macroeconomic drivers, with a clear willingness to learn.
    Eager to analyse and structure complex investment topics. Strong interest in portfolio and data analytics (e.g., using Python, SQL, and Power BI).
  • Team player mindset, willing to drive change and take on responsibility.
  • Fluency in German (minimum B2) and English.
