About the role
This Line 1, Compliance Manager role is responsible for supporting the implementation, execution and monitoring of the risk and compliance management framework, and the regulatory and compliance change agenda.
Key Accountabilities:
- Build trusted relationships across the business, providing expert compliance advice and increasing awareness of regulatory obligations.
- Partner with stakeholders to implement, monitor and continuously improve compliance frameworks, governance practices and compliance plans.
- Assess regulatory change impacts and support the development of practical, commercially focused solutions that meet compliance requirements.
- Lead or support the investigation of compliance incidents and breaches, providing guidance on remediation actions and root cause analysis.
- Develop and monitor compliance metrics, key risk indicators and controls to identify emerging risks and strengthen oversight.
- Support the assessment of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to ensure compliance, governance and risk considerations are appropriately managed.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in compliance, regulatory advisory, compliance monitoring or internal audit within a regulated financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of risk and compliance frameworks, obligations and regulatory change management.
- Experience investigating compliance incidents, breaches and remediation activities.
- Knowledge of the general insurance industry and relevant obligations, including the Corporations Act, ASIC Act and prudential standards.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and provide practical compliance solutions.
- Exposure to emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, and the associated compliance and governance considerations
