About the role
- Full-time Permanent only position with core working hours between 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Build and sustain technical capability across the Internal Assessing function through oversight of the Quality Assurance Framework, identification of individual and portfolio‑level training needs, and delivery of targeted development in partnership with Team Managers.
- Share Domestic/Home claims expertise across AAL, define required assessor capabilities and competencies, and influence recruitment, onboarding, and internal assessment standards.
- Ensure effective governance and compliance through oversight of technical and Code of Practice complaint handling, escalation management, and development of strategies that support strong regulatory and customer outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement and change through identification of trends and efficiencies across complaints, QA insights, and technical queries, supported by empathetic coaching, pragmatic commercial judgement, and strong stakeholder engagement in a complex environment.
About you
- Brings a strong technical foundation supported by relevant professional qualifications, including ANZIIF Certificate IV or Loss Adjustor accreditation, alongside a solid understanding of Home insurance products.
- Demonstrates broad experience in claims assessment and management within complex, matrixed general insurance environments, with an organized and thoughtful approach to planning, prioritization, and balancing competing demands.
- Shows a proven ability to lead, coach, and develop claims teams at a technical level, navigating ambiguity with confidence and contributing positively to organizational change through collaboration and clear communication.
- Engages stakeholders with care and influence, identifying service and product improvement opportunities, delivering compliant service improvements, and communicating with clarity, impact, and empathy.
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
