Allianz Australia is looking for a Finance Actuary to join its Claims Steering team. The primary purpose of this role is to provide actuarial services to the Finance division in relation to business steering, reporting, planning and forecasting.

 

What you do

 

  • Ensure timely completion of the monthly reserving of claims liabilities and related items.
  • Collaborate with critical stakeholders across the business (senior leadership, Technical, Claims, Distribution, Finance) to drive meaningful insights in performance and assess the impact on future profitability across all Allianz portfolios.
  • Provide input into the planning and forecasting process.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and automation, as well as broader Allianz Australia projects and initiatives, reinforcing the Agile way of working.
  • Contribute to the development, improvement and implementation of actuarial reporting processes and risk identification.

 

About you

 

  • Comprehensive understanding of financial frameworks and experience in a general insurance actuarial role (exposure to reserving preferred).
  • Fully or partly qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) or equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision making.
  • Rigorous focus on quality, accuracy and on time delivery of work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with specialised systems, software, databases, presentation, reporting and communication tools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and empower people to develop individual and team potential
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
