Reporting to the Chief Audit Executive, you will lead internal audit activities across Allianz Australia's Technical, Customer & Operations (which includes IT and Cyber), Data & Analytics and Corporate Affairs and Governance teams. You will ensure the provision of assurance, insights, and credible challenge to the business, protecting the business within the Board set risk appetite, the Audit Committee Charter and Group Audit requirements.

About the role:

  • Provide enterprise‑wide leadership of Internal Audit, delivering high‑quality, timely assurance aligned to IIA standards, Group Audit requirements and organisational policies.
  • Set the standard for clear, impactful audit reporting, ensuring you articulate issues, root causes and thematic risks with precision and drive sustainable management action.
  • Be the trusted advisor to executive management, building influential relationships and providing insight across risk, control and governance matters.
  • Shape and implement the Annual Internal Audit Plan and Five‑Year Audit Plan in partnership with Group Audit and the Executive team, aligned to strategic, regulatory and risk priorities.
  • Foster a high‑performance audit culture focused on efficiency and continuous uplift, positioning Internal Audit as a leader within the organisation and the insurance industry.
  • Lead collaboration with the Allianz Group Audit community to embed best practice across assurance delivery, risk culture assessment and project assurance.
  • Exercise independent judgement and due professional care, ensuring full adherence to IIA Standards, Code of Ethics and local and Group governance requirements.
  • Maintain deep and current understanding of the insurance landscape, regulatory change and emerging risks to ensure audit coverage remains forward‑looking and relevant.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with relevant accreditations, e.g. CA, CPA, CISA, and CIA.
  • 10+ years experience in audit/ risk management in a senior management role for a complex general insurance, financial services or professional services organisation.
  • Experience with IT Governance, Operations and Cyber Security disciplines in an operations, risk and compliance or internal audit role, including the interaction between the business and Information Technology.
  • Previous exposure presenting to Board/Committees and Senior Executives.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing improvements to business, controls and risk.
  • Experience empowering people to realise their highest potential by recognising and developing individualand team performance, mentoring and building talent pipelines to safeguard current and future organisational needs.
