At Allianz, we're proud to be named one of the Best Workplaces in Australia 2025 and a Great Place to Work. As a leading global insurance and asset management brand, we prioritise care for our customers, the planet, and each other. We hire people who can further our commitment to caring and securing the future for our customers.
Reporting to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, you will lead an operationally independent and objective Line 2 risk and compliance advisory function. You will partner with business divisions to promote a risk-aware culture across Allianz Australia (AAL).
Let's care for tomorrow, so we can create a better future together, for everyone.
About the role:
- Constructively challenge activities and decisions that may materially affect the AAL risk and compliance profile. This includes guidance on risk identification, assessment, management and reporting, such as Risk and Control Assessments, Compliance Operational Plans and Delivered Risk Assessments across AAL Divisions.
- As part of the Risk and Compliance Leadership team, set the strategic direction for future risk management tools and techniques and lead their implementation throughout AAL.
- Lead the design and delivery of AAL's Risk Culture programme and measurement, which satisfy both local regulatory and Allianz Group expectations.
- Deliver proactive advice to Line 1. This includes identifying opportunities to strengthen AAL's Risk and Compliance management. We do this by applying technical subject matter expertise. Additionally, we engage cross-functional networks to influence teams in solving complex or high impact risks to AAL.
- Lead enterprise risk assessments as needed by Allianz Group, including AAL's Top Risk Assessment, Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) Pre-Assessment and other assessments including Fire Drill exercises.
- Conduct Line 2 Deep Dives on high or emerging risk areas within AAL.
- Oversee AAL's Fraud and Financial Crime Management Programme, including monitoring AAL's Conflict of Interest and Gifts & Entertainment registers.
- Lead team members to develop capability, build collaborative and engaged teams, enabled by talent development plans and balanced performance priorities.
- Embed a sustainable, risk-aware culture through thought leadership and role modelling desired behaviours to take ownership of risk and compliance for the designated business area.
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with relevant accreditations.
- 10+ years experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks and strategies in a senior management role for a complex, matrixed corporate (financial services) organisation.
- Experience with risk management frameworks and practices for both financial and non-financial risks.
