Reporting to the General Manager Underwriting, you will develop the underwriting and pricing strategy for the Personal Injury and Commercial (PIC) portfolios, integrating data-driven and market insights to achieve profitable growth. Your role is instrumental in supporting Smart Growth projects by refining our strategic direction at a portfolio and geographic level, ensuring the PIC pricing strategy aligns across Underwriting and Technical teams.

About the role:

• Lead portfolio‑level insight using advanced analytics to identify growth opportunities, performance trends, and emerging risks across underwriting segments.
• Translate portfolio and market analysis into clear, actionable underwriting strategies that improve profitability, pricing discipline, and risk outcomes.
• Deliver deep market and competitor insight to inform strategic decision‑making across Commercial and Personal Injury lines.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to build robust business cases, including end‑to‑end financial modelling and clarity on strategic trade‑offs.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment across Underwriting, Technical, Operations, Distribution, and Claims to ensure consistent execution of growth priorities.
• Lead portfolio risk assessments to balance growth ambition with Allianz's risk appetite, underwriting standards, and long‑term strategic objectives.
• Shape portfolio management, pricing, and multi‑line underwriting strategies in collaboration with Technical teams to support sustainable growth.
• Engage the broker market and internal leaders through executive briefings, workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives that embed strategy and optimise underwriting effectiveness.

About you:

• 10+ years experience in underwriting and general insurance industry.
• Demonstrate executive influence and leadership to lead positive culture changes.
• Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen evidenced by use of insights related to the market, opportunities, risks and competitors within the insurance industry as well as the dynamic levers that influence these factors.
• Contemporary technical underwriting capability and expertise.
• Comprehensive understanding of the relevant regulatory and legislative compliance requirements that affect Commercial and AAL.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high quality service.
