About the role

 

The primary purpose of this role is to lead people and outcomes for the Systemic and Emerging Issues Team to ensure the team is equipped to handle complex regulatory notices and emerging issues effectively. In this role you will have the opportunity to collaborate with senior stakeholders to support the implementation of regulatory changes, design and establish effective controls, oversee and enhance Allianz's risk management practices and ensure the protection of business objectives, customer interests and compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

This is a 12-month maternity leave contract.

 

  • Operationally leading a team responsible for reviewing and investigating claims or complaints related to General Insurance Claims, focusing on thematic/systemic and/or emerging issues.
  • Working with Line 1, Line 2 Risk partners and Legal, investigate and address responses to all Claims or Complaints related regulatory enquiries.
  • Provide clear guidance to the Customer & Operations Leadership team including offering recommendations to prevent recurrence, enhance controls, and identify root causes with regards to identified systemic or emerging issues.
  • Provide guidance to the General Insurance Claims Leadership Team including supporting in remediation activities as necessary.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations for process enhancements to and protocol improvements, leveraging insights from review outcomes.
  • Lead and provide strategic insights driven by file reviews of Claims or Complaints, evaluating initial assessments of potential breaches and raised incidents, with recommendations for outcomes.
  • Contribute to informed decision-making across the Customer and Operations Leadership Team.
  • Lead the reinforcement of governance, risk management, internal controls environment, and fostering a robust risk culture within the organization.

 

About you

 

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Significant experience in a compliance, risk or legal focused role acquired within a complex, matrixed general insurance or financial services organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business leaders and establish strong professional relationships across the enterprise in a fast-paced and dynamic environments.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision-making, positively influencing risk behaviours throughout Allianz.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
