About the role


The Portfolio Analyst, Commercial will be responsible for monitoring the portfolio and market environment to develop actionable insights that contribute to decision making and business outcomes.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Support the Senior Manager, Portfolio Management Commercial in the development and execution of strategies that deliver sustainable, customer-centric outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of segment-targeted customer value propositions, ensuring alignment with product and pricing governance frameworks.
  • Drive proposition innovation through regular market analysis, identifying emerging trends and opportunities to enhance portfolio competitiveness.
  • Monitor portfolio performance across agreed quantitative and qualitative metrics, translating data into actionable insights and clear communications.
  • Conduct regular portfolio analysis to identify result drivers, variances from target, and prepare concise findings for key stakeholders.
  • Deliver timely ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support informed decision-making across the business

 

About you

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Experience in a product or portfolio analytics role within a complex, matrixed general insurance or related industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to leverage market insights, identify opportunities and assess risk and competitive dynamics.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into meaningful, actionable insights.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to evaluate options and make evidence-based recommendations that drive effective decision-making.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information with clarity, impact and influence.
